Khan needs to climb the ladder progressively rather than to try and jump over a few rungs and end up falling all the way down. This means that by the time he would be ready for such a fight, Hatton will have moved on and there will be other names and faces to take on. In the near future, the fights to be looking out for are the UK/Europe fights, Thaxton, Romanov etc... and eventually international (Katisidis, maybe even Diaz once Khan is ready for it. To be honest I don't really know about Diaz, but from what I'm hearing he's quite dangerous). Once Khan has established himself as a world champion then you can talk about bigger fights. Don't know if this quote is for real, but I certainly hope not. With due respect to Khan, he isn't really at a level yet where he can make such statements. It only makes a laughing stock out of him. Let him take on the likes of Katsidis and Diaz first before even talking about Mayweather.
Hatton will be retired before Khan gets there Khan v Rees will be the one ( assuming Rees can hold onto his belt ! )
Rees isn't very active - only fought twice this year. There must be a limit to how long he can hang on to the WBA Title he won against M'Baye in July without defending it.
