He didn't "make Dawson" do ****...Dawson called him out at 168, and agreed to fight at 168...that was his choice.

Diffrence is, Ward never once said that he could fight at 160lbs, while Dawson's stupid ass kept on saying he could make 168lbs.

It's not Ward's problem that Dawson and his team decided to drop to 168 to fight him.

So much ****ing ***** sniping at this site.

Anyway - my original suggestion to Andre Ward was that he move to 166 or 165 and fight Andre Dirrell in Oakland, this way he can get in a good title fight (I'm sure it'd be sanctioned by the SMW bodies) while seeing if he can work it at a lower level. He can mandatory Dirrell at 168 as backup. When he gets used to fighting a few pounds below he can move down to 163 or 164 to fight Martinez who would've already rematched Chavez Jr. or a mandatory.

It could be a superfight for December and would probably make both fighters near career money.

Ward is making smart choices. I'm not a fan of him seemingly being grounded in Oakland, but a Martinez fight would be lose/lose. If he wins, even by TKO, then he knocked out a much smaller, old guy. If he loses then there's no way back.

What kind of logic is this?

If he loses, well it's on his record!

If he wins, well it's on his record!

Martinez fighting at 164 or 163 is amazingly dangerous. The winner of that fight would be p4p #1 in the world no question.

Noooo... stay at 168 ward! no need to move up if you can strongly make 168.

Some of y'all don't have a clue, or just twist the facts to support whatever injustice you've created in your own heads. You don't like Andre Ward fine, but spinning the truth to justify your hate, doesn't prove anything other than you're some very irrational people.

Was Ward justified in fighting Dawson at 168 after Chad said he could make it? Absolutely.

Is his victory over an obviously drained Dawson far less impressive than it would have been had he fought him at 170 or 175? Absolutely.

Does Ward kind of come off as a ***** for refusing Dawson's catchweight request in negotiations and now declaring he's going up to 175? Yes in my opinion.
