Reyes is most commonly used by top professionals but everyone has their own personal preference. Some gloves just feel better than others, or they need more protection for their hands etc. The top brands are Reyes, Winning, Grant and Everlast.
You talking about pro fight gloves or sparring gloves? Big differences... Edit: Sorry, was responding to the original poster, not you.
i dont have any problems with my hands so i dont need a glove to protect my hands. Which glove is the nicest fitting and firmest glove in your opinion. My preference is a nice tight fitting glove and a firm hard glove, which glove best fits that description.
whats wrong with the everlast gloves? is the quality that bad? best thing to do is try a few different pairs but i no thats difficult as most shops are online only. most use everlast and lonsdale in the uk. but reyes to me are the best but its personal preference really.
Reyes, Grant, and Winning are your high-end ones. Winnings will protect your hands the most. I believe Reyes are known for having a wide pocket for the hand. They aren't a great idea for sparring unless you have a score to settle with someone. Steer clear of Title Gel! I just sent back a pair because the hand pockets are MASSIVE. I hate the way Everlasts feel on my hands, that's all. They feel like they're reinforced on the back of my hand with stiff cardboard, and they cause you to land ABOVE the knuckles, if that makes any sense. They kinda curve your hand downward. Quality isn't horrible, but it isn't good either. My next pair is going to be Lonsdale Elite Molded foam ones. Heard a lot of good stuff about them so I'm going to try them out. Should have them in a week or two and I'll let you know. This guy does some great reviews on just about every glove out there. I've tried out a few of the gloves he reviews and his opinions are dead-on. Check it out on there before you put down your cash: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV4w2X_tAjM[/ame]
Thanks KillSomething good post, let me know how the Lonsdale gloves go because i was always interested in getting a pair myself. Good review on the grant gloves in the video too..
The best answer is it depends. Reyes: longer glove, less padding around the knuckles, harder fist. If your hands aren't too sensitive, this is your glove to have a harder punch. Winning: like pillows. The ultimate protection for your hands because of the way the padding is designed. This is a most expensive brand but well worth the price if you need the protection.
IMO i'd use Winning for training. Nice comfortable gloves which offers massive protection (even if you don't have bad hands there still worth protecting)... And for fighting i'd use Reyes. Wonderful glove, small compact and with a tight fit. Also they are known as 'punchers' gloves so you'd do more damage :good
Got the Lonsdale gloves and they are AWESOME. Can't think of anything I don't like about them. Your hand feels good inside them--it's like the glove is helping you make a fist rather than preventing it. Also, the material inside is amazing...not that cheap, loose swishy stuff. I don't know how to describe it really...but it's really really nice.
