I've got an idea for a fight, tell me if this sucks or not. Both fighters have to be about the same age, height, weight ect. They both have the same ammount of time to get in shape say about 6 to 8 months. What exactly are you trying to prove here? There should be no question that modern methods is a step up from the conventional ones. Alll things equal, modern training equipments should make the training more efficient by ensuring that only those needed muscles groups are utilised and developed. For instance, jogging with a good scientifically designed pairs of running shoes has huge advantage cmopared to running on foot or hard leather shoes..especially on the long term where the impact will be noticeable.
Good idea, but both fighters would need equal fight experience and be matched as close as possible when it comes to the intangibles.
They both must be from the same race, same upbringing, eat the same food.... Wait, this **** is pointless..
That would be fun to watch but it wouldn't prove absolutely anything. It would come down to how the fighters themselves are (how fast they learn, their natural abilities, toughness, etc.). The only way something like this could work is if you got two clones to be a part of it. Here's a real idea for a fight on TV: Valuev vs Ulises Solis and Ivan Calderon at the same time. All regular boxing rules apply. What would happen??
Yeah, that would give the correct insight . An ex-bum of a fighter, that beats a drug-enhanced fighting machine, who has access to the best equipment soviet government could buy, versus treelogs and cardragging. Not only that, he could do it in the russians backyard. Rockys supertitanium chin could take 100s of flush hits that killed his best friend in round 1 or something.
