Guillermo Rigondeaux v Vasyl Lomachenko Maybe it's because I'm in the UK, But what on earth is with the lack of promotion? I'd guess the promotion, If there even has been any, Will be focuses on the US market. But even simple things like the YouTube boxing pages you barely even see it on there ? Infact have they even met face to face (on video) since the fight got signed? As cheesy as they are, Rigos cartoons etc on Instagram are probably the most promotion I've seen here in UK Hopefully someone will tell me that it's being promoted a bit more in USA. It was never gonna do numbers but it would be a shame to see such a big fight flop.
It's sold out in an arena of 10,000 and it's showing on ESPN, not PPV. Maybe Bob figures more promotion would not add anything. Plus neither guy has much of a fan base. And Rigo has less personality than a mummy. If there was more money to be made by more promotion I'm pretty sure it would be happening.
I don't think it's at the arena, but at the theatre which holds about 5k. Also based on Instagram, Rigo has a lot more personality than Loma. Regardless, being that the fight is on free tv, I assume their main priority is selling out the seats, which seems to already of happened. Anything extra is just bonus. War Rigo, War Loma. One of the best fights that will ever happen. I just hope that there's no other bs games on that will cause this fight to jump around on different channels.
Northadox, you are completely right on this one! Your hopes that the fight is promoted better in the USA are in vain... It’s literally a self-promoted fight. My only hope is that really a lot of people somehow will watch it on TV and Lomachenko’s next fights will receive the amount of promotions he deserves.
