    100%.
    Imagine a card of:
    Loma Lopez 2
    Gvozdzyk Beterbiev 2
    Usyk AJ 2

I know it's not realistic but would be an insane event!

Of course THE reason for lack of domestic fight market is economy. This market needs time to form habits and "culture", but the country had maybe only 4-5 years of relative economic security in 2004-2009. In that period there was some fledgling market, a few belt-holders like Uzelkov and Senchenko fought at home, but not enough time for habits and culture to take hold. Then there was financial crisis, then revolution and war in 2014. Anyway that bygone market was too small for world class fighters like Usyk and Loma. So Usyk and Loma never thought or cared about domestic market when they went pro in 2013-2014. That's why they didn't care about alignment of their politics with national revolutionary mood. And their politics is ... not mainstream, especially Usyk's with his devotion to Moscow-affiliated branch of Orthodox church. So maybe the fight market will emerge again, but Loma and Usyk are not good material to build it back. Vit. Klitschko is one savvy politician and businessman, he finely tunes his distance from Usyk to avoid losing money, but also to avoid political toxicity.

They could always put Derevyanchenko on the card.

Are there any new up and coming guys from Ukraine? The only amateur I’m familiar with right now is Oleksandr Khyzhniak, but I think he’s already like 25 or 26.

If they use Ukrainian women as round card girls the whole world would pay to see it.

The market has dried up in Germany since the Klitschko bros. I know Matchroom have considered entering and delaying promoting in Germany a few times in recent years.

Usyks home market in some ways now is the UK. He has a solid fanbase that appreciates his skills and personality

It would be amazing. Would be the same if you had Canelo and the best Mexican fighters on a card in Mexico. It’s just not financially viable.

The average salary in Ukraine is like $775 a month. That’s half of what it is in Mexico. You could essentially only charge $10-40 a ticket which means you get a gate of like $250k. Instead of an £9-12m gate in UK. Same reason Canelo etc doesn’t fight in Mexico.

On top of that there’s no PPV market and trying to do fight week build up and marketing would be difficult in Ukraine for essentially a UK market. In the UK for instance Hearn and the fighters are everywhere on fight week pushing the fight. The only reason it happened in Saudi is because they paid to fly everyone out including news outlets and paid a fortune to negate it all.

only way it happens in the Ukraine is if a very rich man paid for it all.

I could see this happening in Saudi though as it’s neutral but AJ has fought there in that heat before. So still gives him an advantage. Could also slow Usyk down slightly

What happens if Usyk insists on having the rematch in Ukraine? Does Joshua's team have to just accept or move on?

Ukraniane aren't going to spend a month's salary on a ticket to watch a boxing match where the star fighter gets paid tens of millions of dollars

It's a different world out there

Usyk will settle fighting in the UK for bigger money, you wont make much money fighting in Kiev.

Germany is no option. The k‘s put on a ridiculous fake persona in order to aline with the type of athlete german people like. It got so ridiculous that many germans believed that the klitschkos where fighting under german flag and not the unkrianien anymore. Germans in general really like those gentleman types like WK, especially if they speak very good german.
Usyk how ever looks like an UPA mass murderer or currently a new YMCA member and gains his foreign popularity partly from having such bad syntax that it becomes stylish.

Maybe you think like this: if someone is from EE, he automatically must be rude, uneducated etc.
Klits are educated ppl and to get education you just should behave and talk normally, it is automatic requirement.

Let's be more fair: each promotion is happy to stage big events and big events are sold better IF there are titles on line.
Germany then did not had boxers capable to keep World HW title and there: vuala, there are Klits.
Likes or no, mass media, TV usually pay more for events with big titles on line.
For event's promoter too then is easier to sell more expensive tickets for VIP tables, rent out lodges and sell tickets in expensive sectors.

EE guys aren't guilty that Germany didn't had Maske II version like boxers anymore.

Usyk get his popularity during long long years: he was elite am since 2006 th, good pro since 2013.
