I was just playin, but I think bobby is actually quite a bit taller and has a much bigger frame than manny. I remember him, I think losing to velasquez where he failed to make the weight limit. He looked really muscular.

i know someone whos worked with him and ricky and said rickys fine but matthew is one arrogant piece of crap. to be honest i can't stand the hattons got no time for them. but ricky at least is decent guy in terms of talking to fans. i love 24/7 and when they do the music and the narrator talks over it i love that but when i saw matthew hatton come into it as his shadow boxes i lost the whole vibe. as someone else on the thread already said watson derserves these fights not him beating a shot ted bami means nothing to us fans.

Does anybody know if they had an opponent and they dropped out, or are they intentionally waiting until the last second? Fighting is dangerous enough and this kind of thing is highly unfair and unsportsmanlike.

Ernesto Zapeda is now listed on boxrec as mathew's oppponent

    http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=14433&cat=boxer

lost three of last five by KO. most recent two fights the fighters had a combined record of 0-2-0

hasn't won since may of 2005 in an SD over Norbeto Bravo.

last real fight he got knocked out in three rounds in september 06

so they are giving this guy like one week to prepare, how nice of them

He's not an awful fighter at all, he's an okay basic fighter. It's a matter of levels, Matt Hatton is a British domestic class operator. He's been beaten by the former Commonwealth champ and such, but he can beat an old Ben Tackie. That is his level, he ain't supposed to be fighting anybody great.

The problem is he's always on these ****ing undercards of his little brother when it would be better to have real prospects.

Oh well... was interested to see how "?" would look on the big stage. He looked pretty decent against TBA late last year.

It's a big-ish jump for Zapeda to go from tune-up fights against pro debuts after being KOd three times in a row to a match with this much exposure. I guess he'll either come in hungry or freeze up completely - don't know enough about the guy to do more than blindly guess.
