We all know the saying history has a funny way of repeating itself, that is what we will see on May 2nd

The last 'Fight of the Century' was between Ali and Fraizer.

Their rivalry started when Ali was banned from boxing for 3 years during that time Frazier dominated and became champion, the Pacquiao - Mayweather rivalry started when Mayweather took 2 years off and during that time Pacquiao dominated and became the P4P king of boxing.

The 'Fight of the Century' in 1971 between Ali and Fraizer, was the boxer against the fighter.

The 'Fight of the Century' on May 2nd between Mayweather and Pacquiao will also be, the boxer against the fighter.

and just like in 1971 the fighter will come out victorious. :bbb

Pacquiao very well could come out victorious. This is truly a 50/50 fight and I wouldn't be surprised either way. I just hope there's no controversies.

What about the first ever "Fight of the Century" between Jeffries and Johnson? Or the second ever "Fight of the Century" between Louis and Schmeling, 1938? What parallels exist there?

Pretty cool though. Three last century. This is the first of this one.

I don't see this as a 50/50 fight at all. Would love to see Paacquiao win, but the reality is he is a long shot in this one.

Pacquiao has never really lost in a one-sided fight. Even his early career's KO losses he was pummeling his opponents.

Leaonard-Duran and Leonard-Hearns have to rank right up there as well.

It may of been similar if they'd fought after floyd fought marquez, it'd would of been almost identical then.. In the end though, like in pretty much every single big fight/rivalry the boxer/mover comes out on top

Anything can happen.....Manny is Floyds hardest test to date and he knows this. That's why he's going above and beyond anything he's ever done in lieu of this fight.......it's why the fight is happening now vs 6 yrs ago.....Floyd knows now is the time to take this fight and he's making sure he's at his very best physically and mentally to ensure history doesn't repeat itself.

He's nothing like the 50/50 chance the poster I quoted thinks he is. A few years ago he was. But not now.

Its a 50/50 fight if there is no Floyd/Vegas jiggery pokery that's my only concern. A level playing field with independent officials not Floyd's homies from Vegas surely isn't too much to ask for a fight of this magnitude. May the legitimate best man on the night get the win The World is watching you Vegas
