:patsch if it wasn't 'extreme' all ready then I don't know what it was. Propaganda in Nazi Germany is almost unmatched considering the limitations they had to work with. Also the 1936 Olympics went a long way to suggest the Aryan race was superior to the Americans, despite Jesse Owens efforts.

what EXACTLY did that fight change internationally? Germany was still going to get its ass handed to them regardless of this fight turned out. I just don't get why people keep holding on to the fact that this fight was going to change a thing one way or another. Germany was being surrounded on all sides by many countries and nothing, in the end, was going to stop that from happening. People act like Joe won the war for us.. or it should we could be Germany and they weren't the super race. That is all nonsense.. we and others knew we could beat them regardless of how Joe did and that is exactly what was going to happen. To say it's not even debatable that this was the biggest fight.. is well.. about as lulz worthy a thing as I've seen on this site.

    kurupt,

It had more to with the 'Aryan Race', as being scientifically the 'master race'.

Many believed that to be true, heading into that bout.
