It was a very good fight but the ending gives it `top 10` credentials rather than the fight as a whole, I personally judge from start to finish + great skills, thats why EM/MAB gets my vote. Ps. Why Addie ?
Selfkill suggests I was suicidal. I'm not. Addie is the name of character in one of my all time favorite films. EM/MAB 1 is my pick also. Obviously. :good Glenn McCrory: "I've seen an awful lot of fights in my time but for me, personally, I've never seen one as good as this. This is one of the best fights we've ever witnessed" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ0Y_RgfH9Q
For me i say Corrales vs Castillo 1. It was easily the greatest fight of all times cause both got power punch and both still couldn't knockdown each other until the 9th or 10th round in which it was Corrales but then he stop Castillo in that very same round. Barrera vs Morales 1 was great but not even close to be up there with Corrales vs Castillo as the best fight. I'm curious is how come people never mention Tua vs Ike? Has anybody seen that fight? Cause in my opinion that fight was one the greatest fights i have ever seen in boxing. Both Tua and Ike got punching powers and both went toe 2 toe from the first round all the way to the last round. Both was throwing bombs after bombs after bombs and both didn't come close of going down.
I respect your opinion, you're entitled to it, but I respectfully disagree. Tua/Ike was indeed a fantastic slug fest. It's incredible to see such big men sustain a fast pace like that for the whole duration of the fight. That said, it lacked drama and there was rarely shifts in momentum. It was just them throwing bombs, and as amazing that is, I think drama has to be in there somewhere in order to make a truely great fight.
I think with both landing bombs after bombs after boms is imo drama cause it shows both fighters were absolutely warriors with incredible chin. It sucks Ike went to prison. I wish he never did those bad stuff that sent him to prison after he ko Bryd cause Ike would have been a great fighter imo.
Honestly, i think it would have been the greatest ending in boxing history had Castillo come back WITHOUT the moutpiece spitting. I think the ending teinted that fight a bit... Still, one of my fav!
Imo yes i would. I might get bashed for it. Barrera vs Morales 1 was a great fight no doubt about that but both don't have 1 punch power that Tua and Ike presence in the heavyweight and both Tua and Ike were landing big bombs and none of those 2 even came close of being knockdown and it was mostly in the middle of ring.
:think I cannot understand that one. I won't bash you for it. You have your own opinion, and Tua/Ike is undoubtedly a great fight in its own right.
ok then you tell me how come you don't understand it? i don't mind that in people view about barrera vs morales 1 be better then tua vs ike. it's ppl opinion.
Absolutely. It's your opinion which is precisely why I didn't put up any resistance. However, I still don't understand how anybody could come to the conclusion that Tua/Ike was a superior prize fight to that of Morales/Barrera 1. Perhaps I am bias, I just hold the opinion that the fight they put on in 2000 is the greatest blend of skill and action that has ever been seen in the squared circle. Every bit as fast paced as Tua/Ike, and there were more shifts in momentum, with fighters becoming visibly hurt. Had everything for me. There is no argument here. I just don't understand.
