I liked the fight, though it seemed that Jackson was operating on the assumption that Fletcher was going to punch himself out, so he's just bide his time and wait for a while. Big backfire.

Yeah I got that impression, he started having more success when Fletcher did as well (after 9) which helps that theory. When he stood toe to toe with Fletcher for the first 3, I think he didn't like those body shots. He started to keep his left hand lowered after that.

Williams wins a 12 round MD.

Really good fight, a modern day classic. Both guys showed huge heart, good chins, great boxing skill and a massive pair of bollocks on the pair of em. Williams showed he had the superior conditioning but Martinez was a cool counter puncher with good ring IQ, and took his opportunities when they were presented to him.
One of my favourite fights with round 5 being one of my favourite rounds. My only complaint here, was the blatant home cooking, I don't just mean the 119-110 scorecard, the commentators were subtly bias towards Williams and were talking about the fight from the perspective that Williams had already won.

Still, never understood the cries of robbery though, this is a very close fight and could've gone either way. A draw would've been very fair imo.

super fun fight that one! Incredible volume of punches thrown and neither of them took a step backwards, been a while since I watched it but I had Paul 114-113. Could have going either way or a draw. I’m always first to post this in terrible scorecard threads. That 119-110 was baffling.

Boza Edwards vs Bazooka Limon 1
Two tough guys, two of my favourites, an absolute Brawl that I love but have surprisingly never bothered to score before, I just had a general sense that Boza won quite comfortably. Anyways, let's get to it.

    Rd. Boza : Bazooka (Total)
    1. 10 : 9 (10:9)
    2. 10 : 9 (20-18)
    3. 10 : 9 (30-27)
    4. 10 : 9 (40-36)
    5. 10 : 8 (50-44)
    6. 10 : 9 (60-53)
    7. 9 : 10 (69-63)
    8. 10 : 9 (79-72)
    9. 10 : 9 (89-81)
    10. 9 : 10 (98-91)
    11. 10 : 9 (108-100)
    12. 9 : 10 (117-110)
    13. 9 : 9 (126-120)
    14. 9 : 10 (135-130)
    15. 10 : 10 (

Boza Edwards wins a 15 round UD.

Boza was just too technically refined and equally gritty for Limon imo, that early lead he built was a massive part of him winning imo, as once he went to the trenches there was plenty of little momentum shifts and it became a lot more competitive.

Speaking of momentum shifts, the fight was pretty much all Boza's, he was in control more and only really tipped towards Limon towards the end, Limon's only massive amount of momentum came at the end.

5th round was unbelievable. I was gob-smacked, I had to take a minute before carrying on.

    Round by Round
Massive hug at the end. Major respect.
    What a fight!

I forgot how good this fight was, and am not sure I ever scored it or rewatched it since the night it happens. Good choice

    Frank Fletcher vs Clint Jackson
    FOTF

    Fletcher - Jackson
    R1: 10 - 9
Great action. Activity, brutal body shots by Animal.
    R2: 10 - 9
Bruising round. Jackson not active enough.
    R3: 9 - 10
Jackson hurting the animal with counters.
    R4: 9 - 10
    Animal seriously hurt here.
    R5: 10 - 9
Inside fighting! Fletcher pounding and getting hit less.
    R6: 10 - 9
    Fletcher working, working, working.
    R7: 10 - 9
    Clint labouring.
    R8: 10 - 9
    Animal extremely effective here.
    R9: 10 - 10
Slower round, good work from both.
    R10: 10 - 9
    R11: 9 - 10
Close. Jackson jab winning it here.
    R12: 10 - 9
    Great round.

    TOTAL: 117 - 112 FLETCHER

    Notes:
    • Great fight.
    • I can see why Fletcher is so popular!
    • Animal has a sneakily good defense, and tremendous pressure.
    • Jackson waiting way to long here. Missed chance for him.

Boza-Edwards also fought Navarrete in 1981, Ramirez in 1987, and Camacho in 1986.
