    Josh Taylor vs Regis Prograis
    FOTY!!!!!
    That's right mutha****ers, I said that.

On the night I had it 115-113 for Prograis, with the card looking like this:

Taylor wins a 12 round MD

Yeah, as I said this my pick for FOTY, with Inoue Donaire at 2nd. Great showing from both guys, it's a very technical fight with lots of twists and turns and great action. Good inside work with a few dirty moments.

Tough loss for Regis, but I think he'll come back. I hope so, I prefer him over Taylor after the build up for this. This fight definitely warrants a rematch imo, but Sky are shite. Lackluster commentary.
Both guys went to the body consistently with success and both guys smoke anybody but eachother below 147.

    Round by Round
Josh - Fun style, lots of flurries. I like how he throws combos, very accurate. It was clear he was more experienced imo, and he is so it should. Regis was doing things like crossing his feet and was less fluid than Josh when moving laterally.

Regis - I prefer his style over Taylor's, but I like both. Regis definitely hits harder imo, and is just as talented but one thing was clear here. Regis had superior conditioning, easily. He's also probably a bit more athletic.

    Josh Taylor vs Regis Prograis

Round 1: 10-9 Taylor (By the slimmest of margins. The definition of a swing round for me, Regis comes out and has the better of it (clearly) to the body landing a hook & the jab upstairs. Taylor comes on in the last half landing b2b overhand lefts that look to have stung Prograis a bit, and gets good stuff done downstairs. Truly what you like, for me it was Rougarou until the 2 quick hard lefts in succession that stunned Regis nicked the frame) SWING

Round 2: 10-9 Prograis (Great round, beautiful round. Regis immediately goes to work on Taylor's body landing smashing shots that has Josh's left side clearly showing red by the halfway mark of the round. Rougarou starts mixing it up with the jab and right hook upstairs. While it was still a clear round for Prograis for me, Taylor did close the gap getting a beautiful uppercut going that rarely missed, a good hook that landed well, and some nice work done to Prograis' midsection himself. The announcers already showing to have a clear favorite in mind)

Round 3: 10-9 Prograis (Could honestly almost call this one even. Nip and tuck, shot for shot. What it came down to for me was the last minute and big overhand left Regis landed that he was able to follow up on some. Granted Taylor came right back in the closing seconds to land a big shot of his own, but I feel Regis just edged it) SWING

Round 4: 10-9 Prograis (Regis loosened up now letting his hands go got everything into a left that Taylor felt the weight of. Josh still gave a good account of himself landing good shots of his own, but the bigger punches that Prograis landed to the head and body take the round on my card)

Round 5: 10-9 Taylor (Josh put his foot on the gas, Regis looked to have taken his foot off the gas this round. Clear Taylor round, though that's the second time Taylor has thrown and landed a big shot after the bell. He's very lucky the fights in the UK, otherwise he might have had a point deducted for that by now)

Round 6: 10-9 Taylor (Josh looks to be taking command of the fight. Another clear Taylor round, it looked like a few of those body shots from Taylor were starting to have Rougarou wincing a touch. 57-57 after 6 for me)

Round 7: 10-9 Taylor (Regis came out this round looking to take the play away from Josh and regain control of the fight. Good round exciting action, but for me Taylor did the better work to take a lead on my card)

Round 8: 10-9 Prograis (Regis fights most of the round on the back foot and does really well. He manged to stay the busier of the two while slipping. bobbing & weaving much of Taylor's return fire. All knotted up again after eight)

Round 9: 10-9 Taylor (Forces his way inside, Prograis still on the back foot trying to pick Taylor off coming in to little effect this round. A clear Josh Taylor round for me, and Josh pulls back in front with a 1 point lead after nine rounds)

Round 10: 10-9 Taylor (Widens the gap for me, Rougarou looks tired, Taylor's coming forward bossing the fight to my eye)

Round 11: 10-9 Prograis (Regis gets his hands moving again, gets his rhythm back, ups his tempo gets back on the front foot for most of the round and pulls within a round of leveling it up again)

Round 12: 10-9 Prograis (Awesome final round, Regis takes it for me. He hurt Taylor a couple times this round)

    My Score: (114-114 Draw)

A draw or a 1 point win either way is fine, 117-112 either way is laughably bad and that judge should never be allowed to work in the business again.

I read that Joe Frazier had been a converted southpaw, look at his left hook. Yank Durham told him that fighters do not like to fight lefties.

I've read that, but never found proof. I've also been told otherwise by @The Undefeated Lachbuster

I've read that there's no primary source saying Joe Frazier was a converted southpaw and that its a myth perpetrated by the fact that he has a wicked left hook

    A quote by Joe Frazier:

"You could say that was the root of my left hook. When I was a boy, I used to pull a big cross saw with my dad. He'd use his right hand, so I'd have to use my left." (Joe Frazier's father didn't have a left hand)

Pretty sure he wouldn't be complaining about using his left hand if he was left handed

Bronco McKart vs Winky Wright I

Round 1: 10-9 Wright (Both men start fast, Winky's handspeed is giving Bronco a time, and his jab and right hook can't seem to miss the mark while McKart's mostly just falling short. Good round)

Round 2: 10-9 Wright (Better from McKart this round, he got some blistering bodywork done and landed a stiff straight left at the bell. Winky still beating Bronco to the punch most of the round, great jab mixed well with combination punching. Wright got a uppercut mixed in there that did very well)

Round 3: 10-9 Wright (Winky to good with that jab, Bronco returns fire but most all of it was caught on Wright's gloves)

Round 4: 10-9 Wright (Winky paint brushing McKart with that piston southpaw jab, he's simply outworking the champion he is doing next to nothing to try and avoid that jab that keeps racking up points)

Round 5: 10-9 Wright (Winky appeared to be taking a bit of a break this round, but he still landed the better punches and was the more active of the two)

Round 6: 10-9 Wright (Winky picks the pace back up and runs away with the 6th, Bronco looks like he doesn't know what to do besides keep his gloves up to keep that jab from popping his head back over and over)

Round 7: 10-9 Wright (More of the same)

Round 8: 10-9 Wright (McKart starting to get desperate but still being clearly outboxed)

Round 9: 10-9 Wright (Better from McKart, but still not enough to win the round for me. Jackie Kallen McKart's manager climbed up onto Bronco's corner between rounds 8 & 9 and tried to implore Bronco to go get it done by showing McKart a picture of his deceased grandfather)

Round 10: 10-9 McKart (Bronco's corner pleading with him that he needs a knockout to win McKart comes out and finally does enough for me to take a round. Including a solid forearm shiver to Wright's jaw before the round ended that Winky just shook off)

Round 11: 10-9 McKart (Going for broke (finally) just edges the round for me) SWING

Round 12: 10-9 McKart (Winky coasting to the finish line, Bronco gave it all he had, but he should have been doing this since the 4th round)

My Score: (117-111 Wright) 118-110 or 116-112 Wright would be fine as well.

Official Scores: (115-113 Wright) (116-113 McKart) (115-113 Wright) :dunno

Winky versus Julio Cesar Vasquez is a southpaw vs southpaw fight as well, but rather easy to score, Winky won 8 rounds to 4. However the 4 rounds he lost he was knocked down 5 times and what could have been a 116-112 win in his first title bid ended up being 112-111 Vasquez for me. The judges had it a touch wider.
