I've scored the Floyd vs Oscar fight several times

The widest score 117-111 for Floyd
The closest was 115-113 for Floyd

Floyd won this fight hands down

Oscar did a good job picking off a lot of Floyd's shots with his high guard but his offense wasnt consistent enough and he didnt land enough clean and effective work. He also lost the last third of the fight well maybe minus round 12

There was a point in the fight and Steward and Merchant discussed it where Floyd took a break and let Oscar come on and the team was thinking that Floyd was trying to wait him out but that maybe Oscar wouldnt slow down, then he did.

The Castillo fight was close I had it by a point to Floyd but I scored it years ago. I had the rematch 116-112 for Floyd

So why not rewatch and rescore it with a fresh set of eyes with the rest of us. My card changed on both fights. One got closer the other got wider...I would be interested in seeing your new card! Cheers

Well you did, because you said "we also need to consider a bias or only for or against fighters you like?" That seems to imply that I do have a bias but don't want to factor that in, but factor somebody else's. It's fine, because as I already stated, there is always a bias of some kind when watching a fight. So I agree there always is one to some degree.

I just find it odd that you and him scored round 8 (10-8) but round 10 (9-9). JLC won that round more clearly than Floyd "won" (he didn't) round 10... yet we have 10-8 in one and 9-9 in the other. Just watched both again to be sure (I'll rescore it all later), and it confirmed how I remembered them. Not a big deal, and we all score rounds differently sometimes, but these scores for those rounds, appear to slant it towards Floyd. IMO

First four are clear Mayweather rounds imo.
Five is extremely close, could swing either way.
Six and seven are clear Castillo rounds.
Eight is another rounds that could swing either way, depending on whether you like Mayweather's jab or JLC;s body shots.
    Nine is a Mayweather round.
Round 10, Mayweather controlled the majority of the round and landed the cleaner shots. 9-9.
Round 11. Mayweather lands better upstairs, JLC lands better to the body. Swing round, but I usually give it to Mayweather.
Round 12 is a clear JLC round.

This last viewing, I thought JLC edged the eighth. Five goes to JLC, Eleven goes to Mayweather.

114-112 Mayweather. In all honestly, I feel that there's more room to award Mayweather rounds than Castillo, so a wider card is within the realm of possibility. A JLC win is also reasonable, but it feels like a close Mayweather victory based on the way the action unfolded.

Floyd won the first two minutes of round 10 quite clearly, and the work JLC did in the last 45 seconds or so wasn't particularly clean. I feel like that's a more clear round to award to Floyd than the 8th...which still could be scored for Mayweather depending on how you liked his work with the jab.

Don’t feel like arguing over semantics and vernacular, but it pretty clearly says will we, not we will. One is a question one is a declaration.

Rounds 8 & 10 were pretty close to be scored a variety of ways and if we get 8-10 cards I fully expect 4 different variations in scoring those 2 rounds.

Every time I score a fight I also make a mark to remind me if it was a close round or one I felt could be scored for the other guy. I felt Floyd took the first 5 (if you like punch stats....I don’t....but Floyd landed quite a bit more in the first 4, whereas castilio would lead at the end total), but I could see 3 being even and 5 going either way. I also marked 8-10 very close.

So I expect 3,5,8,10 could take this fight from the card that Ledderman had 115-111 for Castillo to No Necks 116-110 (I had 115-111 Floyd) the only rd on his card that seems like it could be majorly controversial is the 9th. After the pound deduction in 8 Castillo to me fought his best rd of the fight and imo the widest for either guy.

But either way, I just like these exercises and dialogue between disputed and controversial decisions

May - JLC .. Very close fight for me and hard to score.
    1-May
    2-May
    3-JLC, close
    4-Even
5-May, Nice clean shots landed out of Southpaw
    6-JLC
7-JLC, Best shots of the fight on the chin while May on the ropes
    8-Even, -1 point JLC
    9-JLC
10-May, clear round for May, -1 point May
    11-Even
    12-JLC
    115-114 JLC
Notes: Ref didn't allow infighting. I have too many Even rounds here but couldn't decide it was that close. Thought May edged the first 6 rounds(overall) and JLC edged the last 6 rounds(overall). I gave JLC the nod because he landed the bigger shots in this one. I'm OK with the fight going either way with close cards . As usual, the announcing was crap

    I rescored Oscar--Mayweather

    I gave Oscar 1,3,4, and 6
    Mayweather won every other round.

8-4 Mayweather. Exact same as when I watched it live, I think. It seemed more clear cut than the Castillo fight.

I see what you're doing with those "even" rounds.

May - Oscar. Clear win here for May imo
    1-May
    2-DLH
    3-DLH
    4-DLH
    5-May
    6-DLH
    7-May
    8-May
    9-May
    10-May
    11-May
    12-Even
116-113 May .. I see no case for Oscar
Notes: I thought Oscar won the first 6 rounds(overall) .. Looked good when he was fresh. May just clearly took over the fight 2nd half landing clean shot after clean shot, not really getting hit at all, and won the 2nd half a lot more convincingly than ODH did the first half for me. I give ODH credit, he was prime in 97 and fought May in 07. I know we all see fights differently but to me, May-JLC 1 was an even fight for me with JLC getting the nod , here I just can't see a case for Oscar

Interesting. Most people seem to give Oscar 2 of the middle rounds (6-8) and the 12th, but fewer of the early rounds than you do.

Then change your scorecard. You have it 9-3 for May over JLC in a very close fight , lol

Ya I think I was more in line how Manny was announcing the fight, I felt Oscar did better 1st half , I think Philly has Oscar winning first half too and May clearly winning 2nd

    I don't score sympathy rounds.

We'll see what the final tally is on round 11. It looked like Mayweather stood toe to toe and landed cleaner punches to me. I thought that was an easy round to score. Round 5 will be split.

But you stated that the JLC fight was closer than the ODH fight and your cards say differently … but fair enough
