    Mayweather-Castillo I

    Round 1: 10-9 Mayweather
    Round 2: 10-10 Even
    Round 3: 10-9 Mayweather
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Mayweather
    Round 6: 10-9 Castillo
    Round 7: 10-9 Castillo
Round 8: 9-9 Even (Scored it for Castillo but the ref deducted one point from Castillo for hitting on the break)
    Round 9: 10-9 Castillo
Round 10: 10-8 Castillo (the ref deducted one point from Floyd for use of his elbow)
    Round 11: 10-9 Castillo
    Round 12: 10-9 Castillo

    Total: 116-112 Castillo

I felt Castillo simply exerted his strength over Mayweather in that second half of the fight. I need to revisit Mayweather-DeLaHoya later today.

Lol I appreciate the shout out and enjoyed your card and thoughts. I am not sure I carry enough weight to validate your card or anyone else’s lol. While I scored this a draw, I also disagree that DLH has no rational claim to winning.

A couple of thoughts on your card.
Rd 7 Mayweather....all 3 judges scored DLH, as did Ledderman and Pat M and myself. Difficult to see that as a Floyd round IMO, which makes your card hypothetically (or a credible rational scoring possibility of 115-114 instead of 116-113)...also round 12 you scored May and again everyone but Jerry Roth saw it that way as well so far...those 2 close rounds of scored differently would make a draw. I don’t think it would be a stretch to score it for DLH even though I did not

Just in case anyone is interested in the official judges breakdown on DLH vs Floyd (I’ll throw Ledderman in as well)

    Roth FMJ 115-113
    FMJ 1,5,6,8,10,11,12
    DLH 2,3,4,7,9
Controversy only one of the 4 to score 9 for Oscar and only one of the 4 to score 12 for Floyd.

    Giampa FMJ 116-112
    FMJ 1,3,5,6,8,9,10,11
    DLH 2,4,7,12
Controversy- nothing major? Perhaps joining Ledderman in scoring 3 for Floyd?

    Kaczmarek DLH 115-113
    FMJ 1,5,6,9,11
    DLH 2,3,4,7,8,10,12
Controversy Lone DLH card, Round 8 for DLH, Round 10 for DLH

    Ledderman FMJ 116-112
    FMJ 1,3,4,5,8,9,10,11
    DLH 2,6,7,12
Controversy (perhaps 3 to Floyd) only one of the 4 to score round 4 to Floyd, only one of the 4 to score 6 for DLH

    Consensus rds of all 4
    FMJ 1,5,11
    DLH 2,7
    Divided 3,4,6,8,9,10,12
FMJ 3-2 with 7 debatable rounds

Consensus just the 3 official judges
    FMJ 1,5,6,11
    DLH 2,4,7
    Divided 3,8,9,10,12
FMJ 4-3 with 5 debatable rounds

Sounds to me anything but a lock for one guy or the other

Absolutely fair post. For myself, I never use the announcers or judges cards as benchmarks. We have all seen enough Boxing to do a fine job ourselves. And this eliminates the possibility of the judges and announcers personal bias if there is one. There will always be rounds that are close and could go either way. At the end, I look at my card and ask if it is a fair representation of the fight. I don't say well, I really do not like May so I'm going to look for what is not there to give rounds to his opponent. So in summary of the fights in their entirety, in the JLC fight, I thought is was very close and I did not see either guy displaying a dominant performance over the other. I thought May might have landed more shots definitely in the jab dept, but JLC landed the bigger shots through out the fight. I am actually really surprised that no one else has mentioned this so far. In the DLH fight, I thought a fresh DLH overall won the first half of the fight. Now for me what was different in the second half of the fight than the first half and different from the JLC fight all together. Imo, May started to dominate DLH landing clean shot after clean shot, backing out and repeating while not really even getting hit himself much. Anyway, cheers mate

Solid post, and I hope I did not imply that your your card was not good, fair or valid. I just wasn’t sure that no “fair” case could be made for Oscar as I think it could. I agree with your assessment that regardless of the disparity DLH landed better the first half. He always seemed to have or struggle with conditioning and fatigue issues throughout his career and they were on full display in this fight as Floyd went center of the ring and showed little respect for oscars power and his pocket D and counterpunching were on full display as he dictated and controlled much of the 2nd half.

Either way I am looking forward to your card (not just your but many others). I do find it strange that you would question (not that I find it strange to disagree) his/mine/the scoring of those 2 rounds

All 3 judges likewise scored 8 10-8 for Floyd

And 2 of the 3 scored 10 for Floyd 9-9 with Kam alone scoring it even for a 10-9 Castillo round.

I fully except a wide variance on how they get scored as evidenced by Ledderman scoring the opposite (8 9-9 for Castillo and 10 10-8 for Castillo on the opposite wide end of the spectrum)

We started fast! C’mon guys keep them cards coming! 3 more days. There has been some controversy over one of these, help us determine if it was a robbery/gift or just a tough fight to score!

    Sorry @PhillyPhan69 and @mrkoolkevin!

Got halfway through Mayweather-Castillo last night. So far all square after 6 rounds (2 to May, 2 to Castillo, 2 even). This is a devilishly difficult fight to score! Will post my full card once I'm done. Cheers!
