    He deserves full credit

Nobody ever put on a beating on Ali like Frazier did that night

    This was still Muhammad Ali

It's right there with Ali's win over Foreman, maybe even better ... Foreman was still pretty young when he lost to Ali ... Ali was a grizzled veteran who was champion for some time when Frazier beat him

The new enhanced version that ABC showed this weekend was awesome. The one ESPN did a few months ago was pretty good but it had the sidebars. This is full screen HD. Awesome

You're implying Foreman has an excuse for being young but no mention of Ali's 3 year exile?

It matched the hype...notably showcasing the first loss of a man who in the 60s looked pretty much unbeatable. Though other fights may have been even more entertaining (Holmes Norton and the first Holy Bowe come to mind), this was the most relevant. And I must mention, Frazier looked to me like the greatest, most unbeatable fighter...just that night.

I think Frazier might be my favorite heavyweight. Like, ever. That 15th round left hook has adorned my wall since I watched the fight, and I can't see myself every taking it down. Shame these two aren't still with us. I would have liked to meet them.

Stevie Wonder swore Ali looked the same as he ever did.

In the middle of round 2 you can hear Mercante telling Ali and Frazier to stop talking...not sure I have ever heard a ref give that instruction before. Man I would love to have been in Mercante’s shoes that night and heard what was going on in there.

For all the talk of Joe being a one armed fighter he uses his right to the body very good against Ali in the first 3 rounds (memory says he did against Quarry as well). It certainly wasn’t his money punch, but I think 1 armed fighter is a bit of hyperbolic rhetoric.

I found the first 3 rounds fairly close and they could likely be scored with some diversity...round 4 to me was hard Ali seemed to Outland joe for the first 2 minutes and Joe closes string. Ali lands more but Joe lands the more telling blows

I’m not sure I see anyway someone could score 6-8 for Ali. 7-8 are a little bit slow TBF I just can’t see Ali taking those rounds

The 13th round is real fun and perhaps the best round of the fight. I generally call this the greatest HW fight ever but I wonder if that is due to the historical perspective, the build up and hype? I’m not sure in a vacuum if I would call this a great fight rather than a very good one? Not sure, but it is still fun.
