Interesting... so he was lying when he said he was okay when Duva wasn't jumping around yelling at Taylor and the ref... but he was telling the truth when he didn't answer because he was looking at Duva carrying about? Interesting theory there.....

So have Taylor answered to the referee? Stop being emotional.

Why don't you believe him that he was telling the truth. That burden lies with you, not me. I'm simply questioning why I'm not answering is proof he wasn't okay (when there is a logical reason he didn't, he was looking at Duva not the ref)... yet when he does answer he's okay... he's lying. That is my question.

But he is in this fight. Very engaging and bringing it and exchanging with Chavez often ..

Yeah, I can't think of many other famous fights where the common narrative that boxing fans recite to each other diverges more sharply from the action in the ring than in this one. In my eyes, anyway.

Only got one card for Taylor-Chavez. I had Taylor 107-102 ahead going in to the twelfth. I gave him rounds 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11, the rest to Chavez. Round 8 was the perfect example of what Taylor should have been doing - when he used his speed on the outside and looked to counter with the right, Chavez couldn't lay a glove on him. But alas, he was too brave for his own good and the rest is history. Either way, he was comfortably ahead going in to the last round.

Chavez-Whitaker is a little different as I have five full cards for that - I'll nail my colours to the mast now and reiterate that I am a great Whitaker fan, but you don't need to be so to see that this was a highway job. Of all the cards I've got, I've ALWAYS given Chavez rounds 6 and 12, and I've ALWAYS given Whitaker rounds 1, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

That leaves rounds 2, 3, 4 and 5 being the possible swing rounds. Looking at my cards, I've given round 2 to both guys the same amount of times (scored it even once), round 3 to Whitaker the majority of the time (four out of five), and rounds 4 and 5 to Whitaker by a small majority (so 2-1-2 or 3-2 in his favour on my five cards, if that makes sense). Even in the swing rounds, Whitaker has generally fared appreciably better in my view, so even if I wanted to be as kind as I possibly could be to Chavez (i.e., giving him the 2nd, one of 4 / 5 and having the other one as a 10-10), I'd still have Whitaker running out a 116-113 winner. To be honest, I genuinely can't see how anyone could have it any narrower than a three point margin for Pea at least.

In terms of exact scores, the five cards I've done have returned 116-112 twice, 117-112 twice and a 117-111. It was a close fight for six rounds, after that it was one-way traffic for Whitaker besides the twelfth. Chavez wasn't disgraced but he was a very, very lucky boy and this is one of those instances where I tend to discard the judges' verdict and view it simply as a win for Pea.

No one in history (except maybe Mother Chavez) has ever argued that Julio had better Head movement

For Chavez Taylor I had it 9-2 going into the 12, so 108-102

I'll rewatch Whitaker Chavez tonight I haven't got my last card on this phone

    Chavez vs Whitaker

    1. Pea 10-9 (Pea 10-9)
    2. Pea 20-19 (Even 10-10)
    3. Pea 30-28 (Pea 10-9)
    4. Pea 39-38 (JCC 10-9)
    5. Pea 49-47 (Pea 10-9)
    6. Pea 59-56 (Pea 10-9)
    7. Pea 69-65 (Pea 10-9)
    8. Pea 79-74 (Pea 10-9)
    9. Pea 89-83 (Pea 10-9)
    10. Pea 98-93 (JCC 10-9)
    11. Pea 108-102 (Pea 10-9)
    12. Pea 117-112 (JCC 10-9)

A few of the late rounds were close, and a couple of the first 5 as well, but I can't see a Chavez won or a draw. Even if you give Chavez every close round (which would make it 115-113 Pea imo). There was a few entertaining exchanges but over all a pretty actionless fight, a pretty large robbery imo.
