Voted for Fury vs Usyk as that one had me going the most. Have to say though that AJ vs Dubois was a proper slobberknocker that deserves to be on there

Bivol vs Beterbiev probably the highest level fight, but lacked the drama of Fury vs Usyk

Say what you will about Fury, but his combination of vulnerability and godly recovery powers makes for incredible spectacle fights. That Round 9 alone was pure drama, but the high-level ebb and flow of that fight in general was a joy to watch and FOTY for me.

In the rematch, both fighters got wise to each other's tricks a bit, making for a less dramatic affair, but that first fight was awesome.

For me these are stand out fights.

    Taylor vs Serrano 2
    Ortiz vs Bohachuk
    Ford vs Kholmatov
    Wardley vs Clarke 1
    Joyce vs Chisora
    Fury vs Usyk 1

I doubt a female boxing match will get FOTY though so my pick would be Ortiz vs Bohachuk.

I thought Taylor Serrano 1 was better than 2.

No love here for Ngannou Fury? Seeing Fury on the canvas nearly made my entire year.

Among championship level contests, I'd also add:

    Yoshiki Takei vs Daigo Higa
    Phumalela Cafu vs Kosei Tanaka
    Seiya Tsusumi vs Takuma Inoue

All three of these fights probably make my personal top 10 of the year.

Joyce-Chisora did it for me in a big way. One of the biggest displays of heart I've seen in a ring. Chisora so dead on his feet he had to lean on the ropes and hold himself up, yet somehow still fighting, and even scoring a knockdown. He wins, to the sound of the entire stadium chanting his name.

    What a fight.
