It was Hernan Marquez vs Luis Concepcion without a doubt IMO.

That fight was better than Ortiz - Berto, Gonzalez - Vargas, Rios - Acosta etc...

Berto-Ortiz wasn't even the best fight of that weekend.

    1. Tyson Marquez-Luis Concepcion
    2. Ortiz-Berto
    3. Morales-Maidana

Either one could switch places, but if you haven't seen T. Marquez vs Concepcion, you should. Man if T. Marquez or Concepcion were fighting the way they were as welterweights, that division would be in trouble. Great action packed fight.

    RIOS AND ACOSTA! hands down.

berto vs ortiz is good but faded after round 7
Maindana vs morales is good but faded late also.

Rios vs Acosta was good throughout with a nice ko finish.

Ortiz vs Berto is overrated. I honestly wouldn't even have it close to Marquez - Concepcion, and I don't see how anyone else would either. It's a very good fight, but in terms of intensity, action, drama, momentum shifts and sheer brutality, it falls massively short to Marquez - Concepcion.

My top 5 (from what I've seen) goes like:

    Concepcion vs Marquez
    Rios vs Acosta
    Berto vs Ortiz
    Kennedy vs Diaz
    Vargas vs Gonzalez

John - Yordan was a top fight (although I hate both of them), Lee - McCewan, Rahimov - Nugaev were also great fights which could easily be top 5.

Marquez - Concepcion is head and shoulders above them all though.

    Rios vs. Acosta
    Ortiz vs Berto
    Maidania vs Morales

It's been a great year. Also, the heart and determination shown by Matthew Hatton vs. Alvarez. That guy earned a lot of respect in a not close fight.

hopkins-pascal had a lot of drama. hopkins had to come back from two knock downs, and was coming on in the fight while pascal was fading.

John-Yordan was much better than Ortiz-Berto for me. Momentum swings, much more skill involved and constant, entertaining action. No holding, no lulls, just a damn good fight.
