Not sure if this has been submitted before

Here is a link to Fight Stories Magazine - there are 3 copies: June 1928, September 1930, Aug/ Oct 1949.

The mag is a mixture of fiction, real stories & articles by trainers etc

It is a shame that not many people are destined to read this magazine some absolute gems there. I have seen a few undiscovered fights before but i have never ever seen an undiscovered World Heavyweight Champion! I have never heard of Ansell before. Apparently he won the world title off of Tom Cribb.

The George Godfrey story was a classic.

There is a good story about the Irish Gian Ned O Baldwin. I have heard of him before, but never seen him ranked as highly as mike Donovan rates him.

It is very interesting that Max Schmelling seems to be considered a twin of Jack Dempsey. A Carbon copy. He seems to have changed his style as he got older but the definitely consider him to be a Jack Dempsey. I have never considered the comparison previously.

on page 122 there is a pretty interesting account of Fitz v Gardner. It is claimed that Fitz finished the fight with both hands broken and bluffed his way to the points win.

That covers some of the interesting points in book 2 but there is plenty more i ddint read.
