Fight summary 2nite? The New Breed

Geale controlling fight completely now. Angles, moving in and out. Standing side on, generally too hard to hit. Todd Carney shown in the crowd with plenty of empty schooners in front of him. Hmmmm ;-)

 

More of the same. Geale smothering kariz well. Kariz landed some good body shots but otherwise not really in this

 

Briggs saying geale struggles to shift gears. A one speed fighter.

 

Kariz hanging in without winning rounds. Looked pretty slow and tired at the end of 9. Geale again

 

Geale round, stunned kariz a couple of times, briggs commented that he didn't lift his pace when kariz hurt, michaels suggested good composure. Thought kariz landed some nice blows to end round

 

Repeatedly bumping heads

 

Kariz badly hurt, after swallowing repeated bombs eventually turns his back forcing the ref to stop the fight.

 

Geale lands some nice rights at the start of round 11, and then ref stops the fight towards the end of the round as Gealey starts to tee off.

 

No worries mate.

 

Did Geale or the commentators talk about who he might fight next ?

 

No dramas ATP. Francis - can't recall if he called anyone out specifically, just talked about wanting to fight more often

 

Not much other than he wants to get to the number 1 spot with the IBF to get a shot at Sylvester.
I think an eliminator against Matt Macklin could be on the cards, & thats a terrific bout.

 

Real disapointed with Billy Dib yet again tonight acting like a complete spoilt brat.
That pathetic touch (hard smack) of gloves deserved a stern talking to Dib, however inept ref Les Fear couldnt give a rats.
Then Dib hits the Thai twice when down ala Yamaguchi all over again, any non Aussie ref & i say DQ no doubt.
True colours of Dib shone through & i was rather surprised to see this in a mismatch.

Other observation was the poor stoppage by ref Mick Heafey in the main event.
Geale backed Kariuki up bad almost identical to how Katsidis stopped Mitchell the other week.
Instead of stopping it & Kariz in no mans land...inept ref Heafey let it go on for a few more secs while Kariz turned his back completely out of it.
Geale looked at the ref like "cmon" however another boxer with some power could have seriously hurt poor Kariz.

NSW refs need to have a serious look at themselves.

Lastly, Nader Hamdan completely had a brain freeze & was swearing galore post match, which he didnt give a F*** if they suspended him, he wont be making any new friends & probably have a few months to think about it too out of the ring.

 

Hats off to Grange Old School boxing the promoters of the card, none of the bad things with the card were to do with them, they did a tremendous job getting things all organized well done to Garrie Francisco & the boys.

I also must say Perry Cale needs to stay on permanently & get rid of useless Rick Powell forever. Cale was so much better & its the 1st time i have enjoyed an Aussie ring announce on TV in years.
Cale actually read the scorecards properly & not back to front half the time like Powell does.
