Yeah agreed re Cale Kegsy. Didn't stumble over announcements. I can't recall seeing him previously, has he done any Fox or Mainevent shows previously?

 

Cale hasnt done any Main Event Boxing telecast or Fox Sports Boxing telecast prior to tonight.

as for Bilal and Nader and how they behave.. all i can say is that i lived in the middle east for 10 years and i have learned to expect no better....

I second the motion to get Perry Cale on more cards!
And the reason he doesn't **** things up like matty cambell and co is because he actually knows about the sport hence the reason he rarely needed to look at his notes when he was announcing fighters and their titles:deal
He also had some enthusiasim about him where as some other announcers just look like they don't want to be there.

 

+3 for the announcer.

Liked the look of Geale, fast, accurate, slick. if only he could punch a little harder.. He will trouble the top guys I think.. Might be able to jag a title I think.

Other thoughts:

S Taylor - punch drunk and cant string a coherant sentence together.
Wood - and you thought Katsidis has bad skin? But what can you expect with his John Ruiz "Punch and Grab" style.
Medley - Good domestic fighter, thats all.
Dib - Grub
Nader - As above

 

Perry certainly doesn't lack for confidence.

 

surley after the disaster at Luna park they could have got someone different other then Les Fear again to ref Dibs fight. I like billy he is a nice Kid but some of the things he does in the ring wont win him any friends. whilst i thought Nader edged the fight with JT. i think he needs to take a few deep breaths prior to talking after his fights. he comes across as a quiet nice person out of the ring but goes off first on contender now in the gong. Great night of boxing by Grange hope there are more to come

 

i thought Nader won but was glad the decision went against him.Geale totally dominant.Mundine will school Woods if it doesnt get disqualified.

 

Perry works a lot of the shows in Melbourne - started on the KB / Muay Thai shows and went from there.

 

Dib is a much better fighter when he stands in the pocket and lets his hands go. When he actually stands and trades, he looks very good. Not that he showed it last night, but the showboating doesn't help him.

Geale just can't punch. Has some very crafty moves but his lack of power will hurt him when he climbs in against top level guys. He landed 1,583 right hands last night and needed almost every round to finish Kariuki. And Geale had bulked up and was heavier than normal - yet his power is just not there. I really hope he can do well though.

 

although u could say nader hamden was unlucky in his fight, i think he got what he desrved. he lost the contender fights clearly but carried on like a pork chop after the fights and showed zero class. now he should have just won but the judges saw it differently. at least now he has something properly to whinge about, lol.

I have done alot of stuff on fox sports previously but mainly Kickboxing/Muay Thai & MMA Shows but a few would know i have emceed the contender series 4( boxing) and the contender asia (Muay Thai) and alot of stuff overseas on ESPN Star Sports Asia. Anyway ive crapped on enough,hope everyone heard the quick plug last night on the telecast about eastside boxing forum !! lol

Geale looked good last night and pretty much did what he wanted, the corner of kariz should have been telling him every round to keep his left up.

Hamdan's post fight interview was brilliant and I prefer to see a fighter act out on his emotions instead of playing the gracious loser role. I thought nader edged it and I expected him to be knocked out early too.

 

Nader again proved what a ***** he is. Always preaching about being a good devout muslim and then acting like that?! absolute tool. not surprising at all though... Bilal Dib is just the same.. hitting blokes when they are down. is there a common theme here?
