We must be close in age. Also, Holmes vs. Spinks 1 and 2. I heard my dad and my friends argue rounds and scorecards. That's when I learned how to watch boxing, what to look for. I saw so much more in the second fight because I knew what to look for. It's been on since then.
younger generation.. Hopkins-Taylor fights along with the Taylor-Pavlik fights is what made me start following the sport more closely. was on the Taylor bandwagon heavy.. the Hopkins-Pavlik fight is my all time fav..
For me it was Pacquiao vs De La Hoya. i was a casual fan up until that fight, then i became obsessed.
Amazing fight. Hell of a bout. I'm surprised it doesn't get more mention in the "your favorite fight"-type threads. If anybody out there hasn't seen it, find it on youtube.
Eubank/Benn.Eubank/watson.Benn/mcclellan For a brit this era was golden.Massive occasions with great fights and importantly i think big characters.Would love to see eubank make the hall of fame but cant see it
I was a boxing fan due to Rocky films but i was more into another sport at the time. Although I watched Barry McGuigan, Mike Tyson, Hagler plus others the fight that really got me stoked into a hardcore fan was Fidel Bassa v Dave 'Boy' McAuley I fight for the WBA Flyweight title in 1987 if memory serves correctly. It's a under-rated classic.
