It's what we don't know about Canelo that makes him dangerous, and largely why the odds on this fight are so close. Trout is obviously a safer pick, styles and proven worth into consideration.

I know. I'm not going to argue that because his resume doesn't prove it. I'm going based on what I've seen from Canelo in terms of potential and skills, strictly from eye test. Problem is that he hasn't had the chance to show it vs "better" opposition. Only question mark I have and always had, is his suspect stamina. Not sure if it's his body language or if it's a real weakness. Everything else, for his age, I think he's very skilled. He can counter punch, he can pressure fight and I feel he has underrated defense. NO, he isn't slick but similar to Chavez, he seems to block punches well and minimize the impact/damage. He is also intelligent in the ring. He isn't a goon just throwing punches wildy. Trout will be a tough fight because he's BIG, smart and has the typical slick complicated style but I think Canelo is better all around. I just hope his stamina isn't an issue and he'll be able to prove what he's got.

Canelo's not the best pressure fighter but he has great presence in the ring and isn't afraid to throw with fighters. I think he'll start to catch Trout as he pulls away after throwing and land hard shots to the body, setting up the head shots later on. Trout is slippery enough to survive, I won't rule out a TKO but I imagine that Trout is durable and skilled enough to stand his ground and recoup.

Canelo's unknowns are what this fight hinges on. Can Saul deal with the pace, height and reach disadvantage and fighting the biggest man he's fought since becoming a champion?

One thing's for certain. Trout needs to keep ****ing moving, it'll be his salvation. 'Cause Canelo loves to counter over the jab of a stationary target with the right. It's really his favorite and most consistent offensive move in the middle of the ring and usually spells the beginning of one of his well put together combinations. Trout could really do some damage if he keeps up his movement and circles to Canelo's left. Canelo NEEDS to be set to get his combinations off, so if Trout sticks to the plan, it could be an easy night.

still see this as a 50-50 fight. Slight edge to Trout. have serious questions about Canelo stamina. If Trout can take him to those deep waters he got this.

    Alvarez W 12. War Canelo!!!

  13. I agree Trout is very slick, crafty, gets punches off from weird angles and he will frustrate Canelo. But let's not forget what Canelo brings: Power, good hand speed and most importantly he's getting great insight from his brother Rigoberto and Oscar de La Hoya. If Trout slips for one second, as we saw him do in the Miguel Cotto fight then he can be badly hurt. And let's be real for a second: that Cotto that Trout fought wasn't the same Cotto Floyd fought last May. Canelo by stoppage

I'm leaning towards Trout by unanimous decision but I wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way. It's not a coincidence that this fight is taking place in Texas. Trout has his work cut out for him.
