Well Leonard-Hearns 1. It wasn't dramatic as such, but it just looks like a great curtain call type finish when Duran stopped Lampkin. LaMotta-Dauthille looked so amazing it looked like it was staged. Then there's always Brian London knocking the **** out of the ref for stopping it.
Castro/JDD, Julian Jackson/Graham, Saman/Gonzalez. Carl Thompson/ Sebastiaan Rothmann. Sellers/Carl Thompson. Toney/Nunn.
Who was the guy who Michael Brodie stopped? It was a grudge match at domestic level i'm sure, great ko backing up into the ropes. I'm normally good with that stuff.
Luther MCarty v Arthur Pelkey 2 minutes into the first round Pelkey dropped MCarty who lay motionless,he died within 8 minutes , as the Promoter Tommy Burns, and the trainers gathered round Mcarty ,what had been an overcast gloomy day suddenly changed a shaft of sunlight broke through and illuminated the prostrate form of the dying fighter, this photo can be seen in boxing mags.
a more recent dramatic ending could be the martin rogan v sam sexton fight, in which rogan couldnt see , and then just landed a complete perfect hook to the jaw in which turned the fight and had sexton wobling all over, until the doctor suddenly stood up and then examined his fully swollen eye which then calls Rogan unfit to continue dont know if any of you guys cought the fight or not
Bowe vs Hollyfield III: They'd gone at each other for over 30 rounds spread over 3 bouts - and then suddenly out of nowhere Bowe got a snif and finished it! Dramatic and fitting end to one of the great trilogies IMO.
or when danny williams vs mark potter in which danny disloacted his arm, but continued to fight with one arm, evreybody from the corner to the fans where asking for it to be stoped until danny williams managed the perfect uppercut,(i belive it was ) to knock out the tough potter out, it was trully breath taking boxing at its best
They say little is original and that is where Chavez and Taylor took the their cue from in 1990. I think little will beat Mama Wilson coming into the ring, stiletto in hand to save her son Tony against Steve McCarthy, but maybe that was surreal rather than dramatic. So I go for either Hearns/BarkleyI, Curry/McCallum or Robinson/FullmerII (that punch was perfect). Although Liston/Ali (Clay)I, Foreman/Ali and Tyson/Douglas also had that surreal feeling around them. The most dramatic/surreal I saw in person, was Bobby Frankham punching the ref after the ref had stopped his bout with Billy Sim.
yea froch behind on the cards, last 14 seconds of the fight, really for me unreal, but taylor was strugling from the 8th round with stamina , but froch just got that last minute of effort, breath taking boxing
