Mike Weaver vs John Tate ending was dramatic. The David Reid vs Alfredo Duvergal fight from the 96 Olympics.
Eubank-Watson 2. For most of the 11th round Eubank had been taking unbelievable punishment and well behind on the cards and with around 15 seconds to go is knocked down. The referee for some unknown reason doesn't count to 8 and as Watson comes forward Eubank throws that uppercut knocking Watson down and causing him severe brain injuries. Then the referee and the Watson corner somehow let him out for the 12th and then Eubank unloads for around 20 seconds before it is stopped. Dramatic but also unbelievably tragic. :-(
ahh good choice, from a fellow mackem, hard to belive i forgot all about that fight, that was such a bad fight, its all part of the sport of boxing
I will not know to my dying day how the referee saw fit to let Watson fight the 12th round, he had to drag him towards the centre of the ring. :verysad
Jackson vs Graham Graham putting the beat down on Jackson, boxing beautifully, then out of nowhere the killer punch from Jackson to end the fight.
Scary, scary KO, when you think Jackson was stepping BACK when he delivered the punch! It compares KO wise with Duran/Hearns (Hearns win? Fair enough; but by one punch KO inside six minutes? Yeah, right!) or Tyson over (not so) Marvelous Marvis Frazier.
A recent fight that nobody has mentioned is Mosley v Mayargo. The last round was pretty dramatic, espec as I had Mosley behind at the time of the stoppage. Remember jumpin up for the kd but still thinkin he hadn't done enough to win the fight. Not the most significant fight but a dramatic ending for sure.
Not drama in the sudden turnaround sense, but Dempsey/Willard was epic in its 1-sided ferocity and the mix up at the end of round 1 when Dempsey thought the fight was called and almost was counted out on his way out of the ring. *That's* movie drama stuff. Edit: just realized title said "ending"... still, plenty o' drama in there. For ending, obviously Balboa/Creed II deserves a mention.
im reading the micky ward biography and it gave me interest to watch his fight against alfonzo sanchez. this was about the wierdest fight i have ever seen on hbo at least aside from the fan man. sanchez was trying to force a fight and micky from my disbelief stayed away for 6 rounds. then out of no where, he lands his left hook to the body and sanchez looks like he is about die from a gunshot wound. very dramatic from the legendary irish american.
the best ending i have ever seen is Carbajal vs Gonzales 1 i think Carbajal goes down twice in the 7th then KOs Humberto cold at the end of the 7th.
