The record for most knockdowns in one fight was when Battling Nelson (one of the toughest boxers ever) was knocked down 7 times..... oh yeah his opponent Christy Williams was knocked down 42 times!! The fight ended in the 17th round with Nelson declared the winner by knockout. Total of 49 knockdowns!

The fight lasting more than 1 round, produced the most knockdowns per round happened in 1927 when Miguel Ferrara lost in the 4th round against Victorio Campolo - after being floored 36 times! That's an average of 9 knockdowns per round.
