I cannot come up with any way on how Griffith got the decisions over Rodriguez in their 3rd and 4th encounters. Even allowing that the dissenting judges went to the concession stand for a couple of beers and dogs and returned after a few rounds had passed, can I make a case for Griffith getting the decisions in those two fights.

I don't care much about lists. I rely on what I see. During their peak years, their records against similar competition were comparable, virtually nothing to choose between them. Griffith did defeat Benvenuti once, but he lost twice. Rodriquez was kayoed by Nino, but was on his way to winning on points or by a TKO (Benvenuti was cut) when he became over-confident trying for a knockout. He also had to be feeling pressure to score a knockout because the Benvenuti fight was in Italy where it was virtually impossible for a a visiting fighter to win a decision over an Italian. Rodriguez was a master boxer and was much faster than Emile.

Terry McGovern vs Young Corbett might be the classic example.

I agree. The first two were close and a 1-1 split was reasonable though I felt Rodriguez won both. The last two are clear Rodriguez wins.

I feel sorry for Rodriguez that he’s not remembered as he should have been.

Up to the third fight between Willie Pep and Sandy Saddler, Pep had already proven himself to be the greatest of all featherweight champions, so Saddler’s subsequent back-to-back victories didn’t elevate him above Pep.

The Rock was an ATG but Ezz was a better ATG IMO.

An absolutely justifiable position, and a popular one. I happen to disagree, that's all

Although it turned out (on the judges cards) 0-1-1, Patterson was clearly a better ATG over Quarry. Had Floyd's head been screwed on straight, it would have been a comfortable 2-0 IMO.

Ive always wondered how some people ranked Moore over Charles. I would rank Charles over Moore at both p4p and 175 even if Moore had won their series

    Mancini Bramble
I got Mancini as the better fighter. A few people here said Bramble was just stylistically wrong for Mancini. I disagree I just think he was mentally shot along with a broken heart over the Kim fight and despite his age his body was already past the expiration date. Some guys that fight like that just cant get the milage out of that style that others can.

And the Cobra didn't win the series; what was it?
    All hail EZZ!
