You could make a case for Manny Pacquiao,Floyd Mayweather or Bernard Hopkins and it is very close between the three of them.
i voted mayweather but.... i would say hatton if he beat mayweather i would say de la hoya if he beat mayweather i would say hopkins if he beat calzaghe i would say jones jr if he beat traver i would say traver if he beat hopkins + dawson i will say calzaghe if he beats jones je i will say jones jr if he beats calzaghe
There is nothing close about it... if `fighter of the decade`goes to anyone other than Floyd Mayweather it would be just plain bull****, Pac & Hop are 2 OF the best this decade but even tho I dont like him & pray he loses every time he fights only a complete biased moron will vote for someone other than Mayweather. Pac has lost 3 times, Hop has lost 5 times, Floyd has lost 0 times & is a 5 weight champion & not only that... he actually is the best boxer of all would be entrants. Mayweather should win this vote hands down... End of.
I't doesn't make sense that nobody is voting for Manny.I did a thread a while back about who was greater Floyd or Manny and Manny came out comfortably ahead.
Firstly this poll is two years too early and there is one name that is obviously missing. Floyd is clearly the fighter of the 2000's at the moment, but if he doesn't come back, or comes back and loses, then it basically depends on how long Calzaghe stays around, and what Pac does in the next couple of years. At the moment for me its: 1. Floyd 2. Calzaghe 3. Pac 4. Bernard
The Vargas win was a good one at that point.Plus the Mosley fight,Hopkins,Mayorga,Mayweather and now Pacquiao.Good era:nut
Mayweather is the Jones of the noughties. I think we will definately see him back in the ring before the decade is out.
a lot of Oscars best moment came in the 90's, his career is kind of split over the two decades, so his case for the 2000's is fairly weak given loses to Mosely twice, Bhop and Mayweather, unless he goes on to beat Pac, Hatton and one or two other top fighters then he doesnt have a case
