He's definitely in contention for best HW of ths 2010's. Don't forget he has one of the best mandibles in the game.

Unfortunately for you Pacman won fighter of the decade for 2000's. Floyd will not win this decade either, too in-active, been retired for basically half of the decade. So Fluid Jr. will never win fighter of the decade lol

Um, no. ESPN and most other outlets had Floyd FOTY in the 2000's.

    Sorry.

He kicked Ped's ass as well 10-2.

yes u r right that canelo might take it, but i do not like to condone a possible drug user.

Pac already won fighter of the decade when he was in his prime. The fact that a past his shelf life Pac doesnt win it means nothing. When he was at his best, he was the best.

The trophy has already been in his house for 10 years.

I'm simply taking into account professional boxing fights and even in 2016, he was still considered the best fighter in the game even though he was semi retired by that time.

Well that aside, Canelo has the best chance out of everyone because of his body of work in the 2010's, but you are right that he has one too many asterisks to his wins including some bogus scorecards.

he wasnt considered the best in 2016. the man was 40. sure he was still world class but thats because he had been elite when prime/postprime

If you look back, he was definitely considered the best Post Berto (End of 2015) and even into 2016.

Now he definitely isn't and even in 2017 he wasn't, but in 2016 he definitely was, from what I've seen on news and this forum.

There's usually a recency bias to these things that gives those peaking in the second half of the decade a better chance to win since their body of work is fresher in the voter's minds.

Odds are it'll be Canelo by the time the voting happens IMO.

I agree, and that recency bias is why they decided to give that title to Pacquiao when it obviously was Floyd who should have won it.

Floyd retired in 2008 due to a body injury and came back late 2009, that's the main reason why they robbed him.
