And as I maintained, Cotto won the close match against Mosely and was considered the rightful winner by many at the time as well, just not by you. You claim Mosely was of a higher caliber, yet their match against each other and their respective match against Mayweather and Pac proves otherwise., whatever we are done here, we are pretty much debating over something we argued about 3 pages ago.

For me it's Pac but Mayweather deserves it too.
    Andre is a distant third.

its gotta be pac. none of the others deserve it for letting this old man accomplish enough to even be in the running. if canelo can beat kova, he should get it, hes been steadily performing at a higher and higher level throughout the decade. i dont think anyone else has put up the numbers, throughout the majority of the decade, to outdo these 2.
i know everyone has their own idea about who beat who, irrespective of the official decision, but if you use those ideas to determine the most deserving, then nobodies opinion is worth a dang in determining a winner.

Except we aren't talking about their career overall, overall Mosely had a better than Cotto, I agree with that, but the "past prime but still elite" version of Mosely is what is relavent in this debate not the prime Mosely that beat DLH. Mayweather himself said Cotto was his toughest opponent in 2012 (before Maidana), Mayweather was bleeding from his nose after that fight and had some visible facial bruises, which is a rare sight for a defensive master like Floyd. Mayweather was nowhere near as praising to Mosely as he was for Cotto, Mayweather took over after that 2nd round against Shane, on the other hand, he was in a dog war against Cotto for much of the fight.

Old Foreman gave compliments like candies, Floyd rarely compliments any of the other fighters he fought (other than Emmanuel Augustus), Mayweather during his UK visit in 2017 I believe, wouldn't even compliment Hatton's boxing skills who was extremely popular with the fans there and when the reporter tried to ask him if he respect Mosely as a fighter, he pretty much said that he respects fighter that can adapt in the middle of the fight and Shane didn't do that against him. Mayweather does not like praising his opponents, but he did that against Cotto so that says something.

There are many names to consider like Canelo, Ward, Loma and yes even Mayweather.

But we all know it's going to be Pacquiao.
A 40 year old fighter defeating a top contender in the WW division of all places will surely sway votes to go his way. Oldest legit WW division champ. Possible fight of the year.
Not to mention on paper, completely schooling a 5 division champ in Broner will also pad his record.
The last time we had something as special was with Duran, and he was a young 37 year old then, and the title was at a far heavier division in MW, so you best believe Pac's achievement will definitely give him a lot of sentimental votes.

What's the reasoning Ward is under consideration? Being a champ at 168, winning a belt at 175? THAT gets you fighter of the decade consideration!?!

Mosely was juiced to the gills against Margarito. After that debacle pre fight Margarito, who was far from 100% himself, never had a chance

Not sure how anyone in good conscience would pick Pac over FLoyd. Pac lost 4 times so far, one of them loses being to FLoyd, there's no win on Pac's resume that beats FLoyds' win over Canelo, and FLoyd went easily undefeated, just to name a few facts.

The only decent scalp Mayweather took post prime was Alvarez, and since primes matter Alvarez was pre-prime. And we all know that Mayweather was juiced.

I'm not giving anybody extra-credit for beating average to above average competition in their post prime years, otherwise we should just give this **** to Hopkins right now. What matters most is HOF level fighters in their prime. Did you beat them or not?
