Poll is up. Lots of impressive November performances to choose from, such as those of Kovalev, Garcia, Pacquiao, and Hernandez.
Pacquiao, no debate needed. Came back from a vicious KNOCKOUT, and looked good even though it was against Mediocre comp.
2013 Rios debut at WW is not as good of a win as Bellew at LHW was or Edwin Rodriguez at SMW. There is a clear answer unless I'm missing someone not on the poll... It goes to Mikey Garcia for beating the deserving best opponent, in good stoppage fashion, and moving up in weight for another title. RUNNER UP, not in the poll: Giovani Segura for his FOTY KO over Hernan Marquez.
I think Manny P beat the best fighter out of the bunch, and shut him out. I think Kovalev made the biggest waves with his brutal KO. I also think Froch and Groves deserve to be up there.
Dude, you're better than the HBO hype machine... Watch Rios vs. Abril and Alvarado II n tell me at 2013 in his first ever fight above 140 that Rios is a better opponent than Roman Martinez, Tony Bellew, Edwin Rodriguez, and Hernan Marquez.
I do believe Abril beat him, and he did lose vs Alvarado in their second bout. But he's a formidable fighter nonetheless, and very durable if nothing else. You could argue that Roman Martinez is better, but I definitely would not rank Bellew, Rodriguez or current Tyson Marquez over him.
I thought about putting one or the other in the poll. But then again, Froch wasn't impressive until the last round, and there were many others who were impressive from the opening bell. And Groves was stopped, early stoppage or not.
Yes. November is usually an excellent month for boxing matchups, while January and August have often been poor.
