Manages to look great? When has Hopkins ever managed to look great? You mean before or after the eye gouges?

It doesn't look like Donaire is fighting anytime soon. Martinez's fight with Barker won't get him there. Manny needs no explanation. Bradley probably won't get another big win this year.
Really the only guys with a shot are
    Marquez
    Ortiz
    Hopkins
Ward and I'm guessing Ward will win it, because I don't think the other guys will win.

Mayweather? Do you realize he hasn't even fought in 2011? does he just get your vote automatically ? I would assume yes... beating an overrated guy who just struggled against Peterson and got TKOd by Maidana is worthy of becoming FOTY? He hasn't even done that yet either

If Donaire comes back and lands a marquee fight in which he's dominant, then perhaps he indeed has a legitimate shot in beating out the clear favorite Pacquiao.

Rios also has a good shot.

Rios' and Donaire's trainer Robert Garcia has got to be the clear cut TOTY thus far, btw.

I think Donaire could be in the running but the year aint over so its kind of hard to mention someone right now.

Salido's win over Lopez should probably put him in the discussion, but if he beats him again it might make the original achievement look less impressive. Donaire clearly was the most impressive through the first half of the year, but it's hard to give it to him on the strength of that performance alone if promotional issues keep him sidelined.

He lost may'be 2 rounds against Abraham and Froch may get 3 rounds. That's 5 rounds, a handful. Even if he does lose a couple more rounds, he's still winning the fight and he would have 2 big wins on his resume.

Mayweather can't win it because nobody is giving Ortiz a chance.
Donaire and Bradley are in limbo right now. Who knows if they'll even fight again this year, much less, against a top fighter.
Hopkins and Rios have a good shot. B-Hop having a win vs Pascal and Dawson will definitely have him in the running. Same can be said about Rios, but Rios needs another fight because Antillon just isn't good enough to compare to Ward and Hopkins' wins. So, yea Ward definitely is in the running for Fighter of The Year.

Hopkins. Broke a historic record this year and in nice fashion. Always like watching Bernard fight.

Donaire needs to beat one more top guy, Ortiz wins it if he beats floyd, because to beat him he probable needs to ko him, then you have 2 wins as a huge underdog vs berto and floyd thats foty for sure, if he loses then donaire,b-hop,froch,marquez have the best chance, and dont exclude khan if he wins next week and is able to get braldey in the ring and beat him later this year.

It's either Hopkins (if he defeats Dawson) or the S6 winner.
