I dont see why ward beating froch on points and abraham earlier this year would be better than ortiz beating floyd and berto, donaire ktfo montiel and another top guy at 118, marquez schooling pac, khan unifying all the belts.
All these scenario's beat wards wins this year, iff roch wins its more impressive than ward because he had the mosst difficult route in the tournament, so i get it if he wins but I thinkthere are still fighters who will end up better this year than the s6 winner, b-hop schooling dawson is also one of them.

naturally a lot rides on the success for the remainder of the year but so far I think the contenders are

Donaire - the Montiel KO was frightening and incredible, another strong win will make him a good contender for FOTY (so far he already has KO of the year, even though technically it was a TKO)
B-hop - oldest champion ever, he made history this year so I think he has a good shot
Ward - he's the favorite to win the whole super 6 and if he does, he does it w/o losing a single fight (although the wins themselves are ok and not really spectacular)
Rios- a bit of a longshot, since he's still not fighting the elite just yet.
Ortiz - if, and that's a really big if, he beats Floyd.

Brandon Rios beat a good World Champion in Acosta, perennial contender in Antillon in a manner no one else has and if will probably win again before the year is out. That would be 3 good solid wins

By the end of the year, we might be seeing:

Ward - beating Froch and AA
Hopkins - beating Pascal and Dawson
Pac - beating Mosley and JMM

Each of them will have a positive spin. Ward will have emerged as winner of the super 6, Hopkins will have broken a record and will have sentiment on his side, Pacman will have beaten JMM who is a (much) better name than AA, Froch, Pascal and Dawson.

I think these are all close, and so it will come down to how good each one looks in winning their fights - if they do win.

Of course, who the hell knows what is going to happen by December 31? Ortiz could possibly beat Mayweather, or Adamek could possible beat Vitali etc. One big upset and we could see a new name come into the equation.

Super Six winner should get it in my opinion.

Marquez and Donaire have a shot though.

If Pac and Hopkins impressively beat JMM and Dawson, then it'll be between them two. Ward would be close behind if he wins the Super Six. I'd even recommend Khan if he beats Judah and Bradley by the end of the year.

We might also see Lucian Bute and Kelly Pavlik if that were to happen and Pavlik beat Bute he would get my vote for comeback fighter. If its the other way around and Bute beats Pavlik as I think he would, Bute makes a strong case for fighter of the year. Even if Bute fights someone more credible like Kessler or Dirrell he makes a great case as well.

Depending on future fights this year the ones that would make it for me would be:

    Rios
    Klitchsko
    Ortiz
    Hopkins

Rios to me is the strongest Candidate with wins over 2 top LW and they were brutal FOTY type of wins too.
