Fighter of the Year 2016?

Frampton, Ward, Pacquiao, Roman, Lomachenko, Crawford... all worthy shout outs.

 

Sergei Kovalev:
W- Jean Pascal II
W- Isaac Chilemba
L- Andre Ward
...surprised folks who cried "robbery" aren't more enthusiastic to point out Kovalev.

 

Shinsuke Yamanaka also had a very good year

 

Pascal was shot
Chilemba is solid
Ward had Kovalev rightfully received the W he would be in the mix and the likely favorite. But the writers will never give it to him because of the official verdict. It would cause too much chaos.

 

How about another shout out to Joe Smith jr. Certainly breakout fighter of the year.
He deserves to be in the mix first man to stop Bernard, yes he is ancient, but what a stoppage it was.
And a 1st round blow out of fonfara.
Guy has put up back to back upset of the year type fights and both were spectacular KO's. With the latter a strong contender of KO of the year.

 

Kovalev gets my vote..he did beat Ward

 

It's actually a lot of everybody's "top 10-12 P4P" guys. Which is a good thing.

 

Voted Ward, although begrudgingly, as emblematic of what a bad year it was for boxing.
