Jacobs was drained (not Canelo's fault, but he outgrew the division) and there was a rehydration clause that Jacobs struggled to make, but gave up and paid the $875,000 penalty. You mentioned that Thurman struggled in his last fight, but that's not really true. Aside from the round that he got caught in and maybe the round after, Thurman was shutting Lopez out. But you also have to take into consideration that Pac was 40, a part time boxer, and was smaller than Thurman.
Why do I need new material ?? Every word I posted there is 100% true. Its you people who's heroes cannot compete with the likes of Pacquaio, GGG etc who need to provide logical excuses why their heroes Floyd, Canelo etc pale in comparison Here is the answer Pacquaio & GGG = FIGHTERS!!!!!!!! Floyd & Canelo = Divas& Ped's cheaters
Pacman, TTT, and Monster. I refuse to credit the year Canelo had when a) I had the Jacobs match a draw and b) he imposed a rehydration clause on a tattered Kovalev.
Very simple: Best fighter EPSY award 2019: Canelo ESPN fighter of the year 2019: Canelo Ring Mag figter of the year 2019: Canelo
Um, yes. You post on a boxing message board, you should probably know the very commonly used nickname of the undefeated lineal/WBA/IBF/Ring magazine 140lb champion.
Thurman was nearly knocked silly by Josesito, and was hounded the rest of the way by a long time fringe contender. I had the fight 116-111, indicating that the fight was about 50/50 after Thurman got knocked silly in the seventh. Prior to that, he'd been out for a couple of years, so there was no indication that he was at the level that he had previously been before the injury. And...y'know, Broner was Broner. So, we're left with one nice win for Pac against guys who two nice wins. And many of the wins that the others have are as good, if not better.
Baranchyk is a good but not great win, but coupled with Rougarou (which is a great undefeated scalp IMO) - yeah, undeniably Taylor is on the shortlist if not the F'erOTY.
