Olu, for his staunch defence of his scoring of Canelo vs Plant and obstinste refusal to climb down from it despite being challenged on it numerous times.

I'm not @CST80 but I'll answer this question for him.

You are acting like it's an accomplishment that has never been seen before in boxing while in reality I needed less than one second to prove that you are wrong. Mike Tyson did it quicker against MUCH better bunch of opponents. I'd take Berbick, James Smith and Tucker wins over Callum Smith, Saunders and Plant wins any day of the week and twice of Sunday.

    Let's compare these guys resumes:

    - Tyson's Smith (James) vs Canelo's Smith (Callum). James Smith had MUCH better resume - his KO wins over Witherspoon, Weaver and Bruno were >>>>>>>> Callum's best win (KO of a shot Groves)

    - Berbick vs Saunders. Berbick's wins over prime Greg Page and Pinklon Thomas were FAR better than Saunder's wins over Eubank Jr and washed up Lemieux (even prime version of him was clearly worse than Page or Thomas)

    - Tucker vs Plant. Are you kidding? They are light years apart. Tucker's win over prime Douglas easily outweights whole Plant's resume. Hell, his win over shot Jimmy Young is probably better than any win in Plant's resume. And Tucker was much better than Plant in everything - far better puncher, better fighter, better boxer and had much, much better chin

So, Canelo's accomplishment looks very unimpressive compared to Tyson's

Usyk but there's an argument for Canelo who just made a historical achievement.

Let's remember voters for Usyk never rated and still don't rate Joshua. A stiff fake body builder remember? So what so great about beating a weight lifter..

Joshua is a decent HW and Usyk produced a great performance so that ls why he gets my vote

But it needn't be said that Canelo is hated and Usyk is treated like a God so there will be no objectivity whatsoever here.

    1. Usyk -Beat the HW with by far the best resume in the divison to become unified champion having come from being undisputed champion at CW.

    2. Canelo - unified the divison by beating WCs in BJS and Plant and disposed of a weak mandatory in Yildrim.

    3. Taylor - Became undisputed champion by beating Ramirez.

It's close between Usyk and Canelo and you can make a case for either.

Usyk is the fighter of the year.

Canelo had a great year too, but Usyk's win is more meaningful and his performance more masterful.

Got to be Usyk, he did what most people said he couldn't, and did it with ease.

If you think Joshua is a mere titlist and not special then you should think it is Canelo as he beat twice as many of them.

You'd be a classic case of "wanting your cake and eat it too" if you spent months/years bashing Joshua then think Usyk had the best year on the lone merit of beating him.

I rated Joshua much higher than most posters on here so I am probably leaning toward Usyk right now.

I like the fact youd to go as far back as the 86 to find someone who acheived what Canelo did. Thats the level Canelo is on now. The same level Tyson was back in his prime. Thanks for proving my point. :)

Thanks for the nomination and award @Oneirokritis. At times like this I want to thank those who made it possible as I did not achieve this on my own.

First of all I want to thank God my Lord who made this possible, PBC and Uncle Al Haymon for another quality promotion, Tom Brown and his TGB Promotions, Showtime and my guy Stephen Espinoza, Canelo, Eddy & Chepo Reynoso and Canelo Promotions, Caleb Sweet Hands Plant, his Dad, his beautiful ride or die wife Jordan, TMT/Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, Fast Car Eddie Hearn, the Eastside Boxing Forum in particular my guys @Pimp C @CST80 ,@Serge, @BCS8 ,@lufcrazy , @Wizbit1013 et al. There is no me without you. Finally to the beautiful city of Las Vegas, Nevada and the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino especially its Grand Garden Arena THANK YOU ALL.

Usyk for me, moving up to heavyweight and beating the unified champion in AJ is simply huge, it's not something that happens often, Holyfield, Spinks and Moorer did it but many more have failed to make that jump up to the biggest division.

Canelo unifying Super middle is great and all but Yildirim, Saunders and Plant isn't exactly murderers row, Saunders is the only fighter I'd rate of the 3 and that was a close fight up until the injury. Uysk in contrast beat the much bigger Joshua in the UK and won clearly without any doubt as to who was superior.

As for Canelo being a big star, why is that even factored in. Fighter of the year is about accomplishments not who's more popular. I mean if were doing it on popularity Jake Paul probably has wider cross over appeal with over 20 mill subscribers or perhaps Tyson who was and is a bigger name than Canelo will ever be and his fight this year with RJJ still did 1.6 mill PPV buys at $50. Tyson on popularity shits on Canelo.

That said.. if Brandon Figueroa beats/stops Fulton at the end of the month..

That means He's taken Nerys 0 and Fultons 0 and possibly by two stoppage victories in 2021.. impressive in my opinion.

Canelo takes it for this one based on activity, achievement, and manner of his victories...

If Usyk fought another top opponent then he could possibly have taken it
