I agree to some extent, Calzaghe deserves it more than Floyd. I still think Pavlik was one of the most impressive fighters in 2007, so my first choice would be him, with Calz being second.

    ANOTHER THING....
according to floydfans, nobody had a chance against him....not oscar or hatton....so what surprises you so much about him not being the fighter of the year.....i mean, to you guys it was just another year, right....or did any of you actually think he would lose.....

Mosley is more dangerous than Hatton and DLH.

I would say it is a close contest between him and Pavlik.

But the only thing I would say is that most informed people in boxing were picking Floyd to win both fights. Alot of people were expecting Pavlik to lose and he won.

I have to go with the guy who won as an underdog.

My vote goes to Kelly Pavlik.

    exactly....thats what im saying here

in the floydboys eyes, floyd was and is gonna win all his fights...so what's the surprise.....fighter of the year should go to cotto or pavlik...but how they fought earlier than floyd, many will remember floyds fight and probably choose him

Cotto fought an even older Mosley and leftover beat down Judah(By Floyd and Baldimir recently, and Judah still rocked him during the fight?

Pavlik beat struggling for 5 fights and controversial "Gift decisions Taylor"? Who else did Pavlik beat...? Miranda, a fringe contender - What has Miranda ever done great? At anytime in his career?

How do Pavlik and Cotto get such high ratings...? Is that in absence of logic?

an even older mosley is still better than even a 80percent OSCAR...look at the resume's buddy....mosley's been winning

and judah was always dangerous for cotto cause of 2 reasons...SPEED AND POWER....

and what are you talking about, floyd had just beat him, AND BARELY

Mosley is older in age but much more prime than Oscar.

Pavlik ktfo the undisputed middleweight champion of the world who was coming off 2 wins over hopkins, a win over Spinks, a win over Ouma, and a draw with winky. He also totally annihilated a top 3 contender and one top 15 contender to earn his title shot, Pavlik is the only guy to knock any of these three fighters out ever. All in one year.

PBF won a split decision over a shot ATG for a belt at a super welterweight, and then dominated the undisputed light welterweight champion.

A couple things to consider, i know alot of people give Floyd Flack about his victory over ODLH, eventhough ODLH is out of his prime you still have to give Floyd alot of credit, he went up to 154Ib to make the fight and thats WAY out of Floyds prime weight, Floyd is much smaller than Oscar. Also Oscar stacked the deck against Floyd in every possible way he could, Ring size, weight, gloves etc etc. Then Floyd took Hatton apart and TKO'd hatton when nobody really thought that would be the outcome.

Also alot of people say well Floyd was supposed to win his fights and Pavlik was the underdog. Well you can't blame Floyd for bein the favorite, he's gonna be the favorite no matter who he fights, he's supposed to beat everyone else so you can't hold that against him, by some of the logic on here Floyd could beat Cotto, Margo, Williams, and Mosley in 08' and he won't get fighter of the year because he was supposed to win.

Anyway I believe its a toss up between Pavlik and Floyd, both of those deserve it if they get it, Cotto a close 3rd to those 2

Nobody even knew who Kelly Pavlik was this time late year, and now he's Middleweight champion after brutally knocking out Jermain Taylor who had never lossed before. He also knocked out a tough contender in Miranda to get the title shot, so you have to give Fighter of the year to Kelly Pavlik in my opinion.

    I'd probably vote like this:

    1-Pavlik
    2-Mayweather
    3-Cotto
