Thats one thing I dont agree with some posters on here about, Floyd will be favored over anybody 154Ib and under so you can't hold that against him, I think with the way Floyd beat Hatton which I felt it would've been a close fight I am leaning towards Mayweather, but I coudln't argue with Pavlik either, alot of choices this year
the only thing that was contracted were reyes gloves...after that, everything from floyds mouth was bull****.....
The point is that being the "favorite" isn't the criteria. Baldomir got it from whom? Manny Pacquiao got it from Ring lol, and he was certainly a fighter favored in most of his fights. Many favored fighters have gotten it before. It depends on the achievement of the fighter. I would have Pavlik #2.
exactly.... pavlik KO'D the undisputed middleweight champ..... floyd struggled and on one card lost against an old has been who's head isn't in the game anymore....:deal
And PBF KO'd the JWW undisputed champ. :deal Stop cherry picking. The media, and most of the general public all saw that fight the same way, a clear UD for PBF over DLH. And trying to downplay the larger DLH who is older but no where near shot while playing up the crude Miranda is transparent.
at 147 of if tyson comes back and ko's pavlik at heavyweight, he'll get nominated :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl miranda, zertuche and jermain are all more dangerous than oscar....oscar has lost all of his big fights, and is only good for the money....
Freddy-Wak ...... "oscar has lost all of his big fights," :good Truer words were never spoken. Oscar was and is good but he just could not beat the elite. And that should be the first sentence of his legacy. "He could just not beat the best!"
that's why i dont hold floyds victory (loss in my book) so high like the fanboys do.....all oscar was, was bigger.....but so were castillo, corrales, gatti and pretty much everybody he's fought....except for hatton of course.... i remember floydboys would trash oscar, now that their boy has a split decision victory over him, they wanna nominate him for fighter of the year ....PLEASE
Yes, the great Zertuche and Miranda won all their big fights. Remember that time when they beat....oh yeah, they don't have any big fights. If PBF was alot bigger than Hatton, your post would hold water. As it is, we all know they are both JWW at the most, with PBF being taller and Hatton weighing more.
we're not talking about zertuche or miranda...IT'S PAVLIK OR COTTO i think the award should go to a fighter that was an underdog, pulled through in some tough fights early in the year, faced alot of criticism and adversity, and finished big with a fight like the pavlik vs jermain fight..... not a man who's year was just another year of boxing according to his fans...... money-yes fighter-no
