    We are past half way through the year and so far there have been some great matches. At this point who do you consider fighter of the year?

    Margarito hands down. Knocked out two top welterweight title holders consecutively. Maybe they'll rob him of the FOTY award this year like they robbed Pavlik in 2007.

    I'd say Manny Pacquiao on the count of his two victories this year.

    I'd name Marga a VERY close second.

    How is Pac higher than Margarito as of right now??
    Pac kinda beat JMM. He blasted out an overmatched opponent.
    Margarito beat 2 champions who were highly regarded at the time he beat them. And he didnt only beat them he might have destroyed them for good. Well actually Cotto will be back. He is too good not to make it on top again.
    Maybe Campbell if he beats Guzman too.
    Calzaghe if he beats RJJ by KO i would say yes to him.

    yea very close. For me I give Margo the edge based on the caliber of fighters and the style of those two victories. Dont get me wrong Pac faced great fighters and finished Diaz in a convincing fashion.

    Antonio Margarito. Beat a guy who 1. Was top 4/5 p4p and 2. Was expected by most to hammer him.

    Plus beating the crap out of Kermit again.

    He is my pick so far.
