a win over vic or montiel would make mijares a serious contender. the same could be said of fernando montiel if he beats mijares.

this ain't a landslide. pacquio's wins are also notable since it was for both 130 and 135 wbc belt and the 130 was for the lineal title. and remember that pac was moving up in weight when he beat the 135 wbc champ diaz.

Margo at the moment. His decisive win over Cotto where he was underdog sealed it. Alot can happen though rest of the year.

i will not argue about barrera and morales not in their prime because this one is for this year [2008] only. so far, pacquiao beats marquez via SD for the 130 wbc and lineal title to be the man at 130. then he goes up in weight to KO the 135 wbc champ in david diaz. while margo KO's cintron again to re-establish himself at 147 and KO's cotto in a spectacular fashion. the only argument that margarito should be above pacquiao is that he ko'ed cotto in an upset while pacquiao won a narrow decision over marquez. so if you imply that this is a landslide win for margo, it was too biased and not looking at the whole situation.

I agree. To put it into perspective, as much as people slag the Diaz win off, its still more impressive than beating Cintron AGAIN. Not only does Diaz have a better resume (wins over Cruz & Morales), Pac was also beating a guy who was physically bigger than him on his first fight at 135 (a former 140lb), whereas Margo was the former 154lb and IMO Pac put up a better showing. He arguably won all rounds 10-8!

Sure the Cotto win was more impressive, but bare in mind JMM was ranked higher p4p and stylistically, JMM was a much tougher matchup for Pac than Cotto was to Margo. Margo had a huge size advantage over Cotto.

We will always love and honor Manny Pac for standing up to the sheer Greed and Corruption of GBP and Richard Schaefer. And for fouling up Oscar's December plans. But if Pavlik can score a KO on Hoke Hopkins, he gets my vote!:good

    i'd give it to pacquiao...

margarito beat cintron which he disposed off rather easily prior to the rematch and beat cotto which clearly had a size disadvantage...

:-( at it not being close.

Try to be a bit objective.

    Pac's best win = Marquez

    Margos best win = Cotto

Marquez was a higher ranked pfp fighter than Cotto so edge to Pac in terms of comp.

AM win decisivly while Pac's was a close decision, no robbery, just close so edge to AM in performance.

Slight edge to AM in that regards but it could fairly go to Pac.

    Pac's 2nd win - Diaz.

    AM 2nd win- Cintron.

Cintron is slightly better than Diaz and both guys won in impressive fashion.

But Pac was moving up in weight which deserves some credit.

So the 2nd win is a toss up to me.

No matter how you cut it it is very close, AM is narrowly in the lead but its some close **** right now.

It will probably come down to their third fights.
