Blah.. blah.. blah.. Plant is a slick fighter who can box very well. His timing, speed and defensive skills are top level. He was Golden Gloves champion in amateurs. A good amount of people was thinking that he could outbox Canelo. People started calling him "bum" after Canelo beat him up.
His best win is probably an ancient Truax who on his best day is barely B minus level and who couldn't even beat a mentally ill & shot Jermain Taylor a decade ago.. consider that Taylor was part of the previous generation and banged out by Pavlik, Froch and Abraham YEARS before that fight… that's plants legacy so far .. wins over people Who couldn't even get over the line against corpses from the previous generation.. Plant Will pretty much fade into obscurity now & do very little else in the sport I suspect, Canelo's unification was the weakest in history by a country mile.. trinket belts are all well and good it's who you beat to get them that really matters
His best win is Uzcategui, not Truax. Uzcategui's best win was Dirrell. Dirrell was high skilled super middleweight in his prime. He joined The Super Six. After Canelo vacates the belts, don't be surprised if Plant dominates 168. Don't be surprised if he beats Benavidez, who doesn't know what is defensive skills and whose only weapon is his "youth".
All you had to do was see how the crowd reacted when Tyson Fury entered Madison Square Garden last Saturday night to know who the fighter of the year is. Usyk needing to photo bomb Fury and Arum while they posed for pictures, because nobody's first reaction was to even include Usyk, says it all. Winning an epic trilogiy over Wilder was more impressive than beating Caleb Plant or Joshua, it seems. At least in the eyes of fans. Winning two fights against Wilder made Tyson Fury the biggest star in the whole game.
