Neither really. I like all styles as long as the individual is good at it. Consider two of my all time favorites: Alexis Arguello and Danny "Little Red" Lopez. As different as night on day, but both were damn good at what they did.
:thumbsupcouldn't agree with you more. Pep and Sanchez are my personal favorites and had a special charisma about them. anything they did in the ring was great. i'll usually pick a good slick boxer or counterpuncher over a fighter most of the times.
I know duran was a great boxer but he came to fight head on not use his footwork to stay away and flick out his jab he came to fight, i did say it wasnt my list it was just a quick example!
I can definately appreciate both. I love the skill of a boxer, but i find the "hit but dont get hit" fighters boring. Who doesnt like seeing a fighter fight? So ill choose a combo of the two........someone like Tzsyu or Mosely
I can appreciate a good boxing performance as much as anyone, but it seems like being a boxer these days is an excuse to be a boring one-punch-at-a-time, runner. Performances like that in the ring can't help at turn you off from a guy. Boxers like that are sorry excuses for fighters. :verysad Boxing in it's essense is a fight... and those who exemplify this the most are fighters/punchers/sluggers/aggressors or whatever you wanna call them. Those guys come to FIGHT each and every time out, and that's what this this sport is really all about.
.....Styles make the match up viewable....and contrasting.... Frazier beat Ali.. Foreman beat Frazier.. Ali beat Foreman... When 2 blokes enter with the same style, regardless of scientific skills, or brawlish style.. the match up can be totally sleepy. Blokes like SRR.. Pep.. Ali.. SRL.. would generally compliment the less stylistic fighters by mixing it with them... Lennox Lewis may be a legend... yet.. IMO.. he was a boring fighter... and the contents were less than enthrawling.. too cautious, for too long. RJJ would outclass the majority of opponents to the point it was farcical.. Most slugger styled fighters in battle together, would ensure a good night viewing.. just too see the outcome... I'd always prefer a crafty slugger vs boxer/puncher in contest... upsets are always available in those bouts.
They are all fighters. Some fight in different ways. I would prefer a skilled boxer to more of brawling or physical type if thats what you mean, thats my preference.
