this got me thinking, which fighter has won a recognised world title (wbc, wba, wbo, ibf) with the most losses on their record.

Salido springs to mind. It's also more impressive if they won their first world title after 8 or 10 losses.

Some fighters have had long, hard careers before finally getting a title shot. Archie Moore had 19 losses on his record.

    Fritzie Zivic probably.
The record says he had 24 losses when he won the title, and ended his career with 65 losses in total.

Braddock. he had such a bad run due to fighting with injuries in poverty before getting richer, fit and getting back in contention.

in fact, probably a lot of fighters in the Depression era.

Freddie Pendleton had 17 losses when he won the IBF lightweight title. So, I guess Zivic and Braddock top him. I wonder if anyone had more than Pendleton during the last 50 yrs.
