By bust, I mean did not live up to their potential and expectations. For me, it's Mark Breland. He was arguably the most celebrated fighter in the '84 Olympic class- Holyfield, Whittaker, Taylor, Carbajal, Tate, Biggs. That's the best Olympic class we've seen. And Breland just flopped in the pros. My runner-up, maybe a surprise- Mike Tyson. He did a lot, but had he remained disciplined and well trained, he would have been the best ever IMO. He would have mopped up the best heavyweights of the 90's. So where he ended up compared to being the best ever is a huge bust.

For some reason James Toney comes to mind. After losing to Roy jones Jr...Toney never became the fighter we wanted him to become. He only showed flashes. His last good win was Jirov.

Floyd Mayweather. Despite being juiced to the eyeballs, he couldn't KO or beat down an old, tiny, injured, shot-to-pieces Pac.

Michael grant. He overachieved and got put in with Lewis and was humiliated in less than 2 rounds. Not that anyone expected much from the late bloomer but he sticks out to me for some reason.

Corrie Sanders. Yes, he got the Klitschko win, but I'm telling you, if he'd dedicated himself to his craft, hewould have been one of the big guns of his era.

i would say ortiz. his long list of fails, compared to the longer list of opportunities he was given, makes him my pick. he made a great career out of failing, though.

Riddick Bowe. All the talent in the world but lack of discipline and focus including ballooning up in weight in between fights would cut short his prime.

He had a lot of hype behind him going into the Lewis fight. Lewis complained at the time that HBO were treating him very badly. HBO had basically expected Grant to win and were ignoring Lewis and they expected him to be an after thought once he lost to Grant. Didn't really go according to plan, so I get why you say that was a huge bust.

To be honest, whilst he looked the goods at one point, I don't think he could have made it to the top due to those things. But he could have done better for sure, he could have improved his jab massively instead of just pawing it out. He seems to have lost the confidence to even throw punches. He may not have been able to make it to the top but he could have made the most out of his strengths.
