This has to be Duran for me. I might put him on the top 10 greatest chins list even with one ko. He was seriously hurt only once in 120 fights ( except for Joppy when he was almost 50 ) and he spent the last 60 or so fights fighting bigger fighters. He did get knocked down by Dejesus twice but they were both flash knockdowns and he was really hurt.

Well Jake LaMotta has a stoppage loss, but it was on brutal accumilation and if anything, it strengthens the legend of his chin, the 13th round KO against Sugar.

But if you want a granite chin where the fighter was flat out destroyed, Dick Tiger. Smashed down by Foster, undentable at 160.

I'd put my vote with Duran too.

Tiger is a great example McGrain.

His chin was granite, a titanium chin, and Foster flatened him easily. Granted, it was a past his best Tiger against a naturally much bigger man, but that's the case with Hearns-Duran as well.

Gene Fullmer had a great chin and got his lights put out by Robinson. No one else ever did it to him.

...............Kind of an obscure one, but Jose' Quinones starching Doug Dewitt was rather surprising to see. Dougie had an unreal chin and Quinones had no pedigree really. Could very well have been an example of a great chin just absorbing one too many good shots, as in Lamotta against Nardico.

Hearns against Cuevas and Duran I'd put in another category altogether. Not many superheroes could have taken those right hands, regardless of their age or toughness or whatever.

I was about to post DeWitt, that guy had a scary chin. I made a few quid betting on Quinones when he came over to the UK to fight Errol Christie. Christie was a great boxer but very chinny and I figured if Jose could KO DeWitt then he could certainly KO Christie if he caught him.

Morales at the end of his career in his losing efforts against Pacquiao. Others are better, but this is worth a mention.

...............This is where it gets a bit gray, though. One could argue at that point (I sure would) that Morales was done by then, and his ability to both elude and absorb a punch were pretty well gone.
