It's weird though, if there had been a 10 count I think Duran would have made it up against Hearns' right hand.

    Actually Ricky Hatton.

The best fights are when BOTH guys are undefeated and don't know the feeling of losing.

Watch the tape again, when Ricky gets up and knows what's coming in store for him, I really felt bad for him even though I was rooting for Floyd.

I'm not vindictive, so I can feel sorry for one guy while rooting for another....

I mean they aren't exactly paying my bills:lol:

I felt sorry for hatton for the same reasons the other posters gave.
With duran its unfortunate as too many newbies judge him on that fight, where a combination of duran being fat,old and past his best and hearns being the best 154 hitter in history, supremely fast, tall and peaking in this fight combined to give hearns one of the greatest right hand finishes in history.....Im not sure who would win at 147 in 1980,that would be a far better fight and a war.
It also hides the fact that roberto outside of this fight had an iron chin that was never really dented before or after the hearns fight.

Yea and some people tend to forget or never really knew in the first place his defensive skills were top notch. We all Duran was not at his best and he should never be judged from that fight alone.

Yes whit, duran also had great defensive moves as you said. Many reckon he had the best ever defense for an offensive fighter,or the best combiantion of both. Its part of the reason why a former lightweight could hang with hagler and barkley.

Yeah I felt bad for mayorga. He was game but he didn't have the punching power to fight back, at 160. First time he was put down.

I also felt bad for Barrera, you know he didn't like his corner stopping the fight against Pac

I actually feflt sorry for Jaidon when he got Ko'd to Bika on the contender, he was fighting for his dad, he gave it all he had.
I felt sorry for Jermain Taylor when he lost to Pavlik as well.
