Fighter you wanted to see Floyd fight most?
(That he never faced as a Pro)

Floyd has officialy become a What if? (If this is REAL?)
with his Boxing career meeting a premature R.I.P.
Who will go down as his most anticipated match never to have happened?

I could be selfish and say "Yeah, I wanted to see him fight my favorite boxer Shane Mosley!!!", but the truth is, Cotto-Mayweather would have the been the great match-up for the ages.

Cotto-Mayweather should have happened. If Mayweather was a legitimate ATG, I mean top-10 worthy, he would have at least taken this fight.

But he neither fought Cotto or Mosley. Why? The undefeated record. He bases his whole ATG status on the "0" on his record. The "0" really stands for how many times he took a REAL risk.

I think it's interesting Carlos Quintana is included on this pole.

Quintana is one of my current favorite boxers (the guy is a lot like Freitas - he boxes and punches with his heart on his sleeve).

Mayweather-Quintana, though on the surface SOUNDS like a mismatch, would have been interesting because of Mayweather's southpaw problems (Chop Chop and Super Judah gave him a rough time early in their bouts).

I would be very, very surprised if Floyd actually retired. He obviously made the announcement at this time for a reason.. the chances of him completely leaving the sport forever are tiny. People shouldn't be reacting to the retirement like he's actually retiring, this is Floyd we're talking about. Cotto UD Mayweather.

cotto would be my #1 option, but would have love to see him with welterweights like Margarito, Williams, Mosley, and the list goes on...

Just imagine how drastically Floyd's ATG status would have been propelled had he just FOUGHT the aforementioned names.

Seriously - being undefeated, that's nice, but that's not what the sport should be about.

Let's say Floyd lost to one or two of the mentioned names, but beat the others (he probably could take them all at his best, we may never know). His stock would rise CONSIDERABLY in the minds of fans across the world.

But, like I said, he thinks that his chance at being the ATG fighter is not by taking and winning challenging fights, but calculating every last risk assosiated with his fights and maintaining the undefeated record at the end of the day. Sad.

That's what sucks the most bro...IMO bout' Floyd hanging them up!
Forget all the hate Mayweather get's, it's about the styles matchup's that we will be cheated on.
"Fantasy" fight's are cool, but it's suck's when you have to H2H fight's that can in reality still happen.

    Cotto

Anyone who says otherwise is not really a boxing fan, is on Floyd's payroll, or is a homosexual.

I always wanted him to fight either Margarito, Cotto or Mosley. But I guess he's to good for Boxing since he wants to retire. He will forever go down as the biggest What If in Boxing history...WHAT A BIATCH.
