Good call on Spinks bro... could have been a Styles clash no doubt. Maybe Floyd would have been the stalker looking for the K.O.?
Erik Morales Marco Antonio Barrera Juan Manuel Marquez Joel Casamayor Acelino Freitas Junior Witter Vivian Harris Micky Ward Kostya Tszyu a couple more names that would have looked impresive on Floyd's record that could have happened @ either 130-140 lbs that never came to pass.
That sums it up for me (and basically the rest of ESB). Had he fought those two, I mean, even forget about the De La Hoya rematch, just fight these two, and perform well, he would be able to retire without criticism.
True but now that Shane lost to Cotto and if Cotto beats Margarito next then it's all focus on Cotto, if he fights him and beats him it should be great but to be honest not really THAT needed considering everything he did. The reason I mentioned Shane is because I would've loved to see how Floyd would perform against Shane, would've been a lovely tactical fight. Though Floyd can't be blamed for that not happening, Shane simply declined Floyd's offer to fight to leave the door opened for Oscar. Shane is an all-time favorite so don't think I'm saying he's scared, hell no he isn't, Shane fears no one.
He needs a fight with Shane?, don't think so. I mentioned Shane as #2 because I would've liked to see how this fight would go. Floyd hardly needs that fight especially with Shane losing to Cotto, all the focus is on Cotto here(and far more if he beats Margarito) and even that fight he doesn't really need but would be great for boxing and a great addition to his record rather than desperately need it like many clueless(no offense) people here think.
It would have been good because we've never seen him in against a defensive counter-puncher. I would have liked to have seen how he would have handled it. I've always said this style was the one that would give him the most problems.:good
