Bute - It's my dream to go back to 168.
Caparello - I think 168 is good for me too.
    Ward - I'm not leaving 168.
Entire 168 division - We're not going anywhere.

Sillakh - I'm moving to cruiser.
    Cleverly - Me too!
    Bellew - Wait for me!

Bika - I'm going to 175, but it's not nearly as crazy as me marrying my wife.

    They know what's up.

After beating Stevenson, there's no reason for Kovalev to stay at 175 except for a potential fight with Beterbiev or Ward.

He can't go anywhere. Cruiser is too big a jump these days without giving up a good size advantage to the natural size cruisers (aka small heavies).

If Cruiser was 190 lbs, he can make it and test out the waters...at but 200 lbs, a bit too much for him without sacrificing power and speed.

I think they should start building toward a big Beterbiev fight at the beginning of next year. Have Beterbiev take on some lower/ border line top 10 guys throughout the year such as Campillo/ Alvarez/ Chilemba/ Oosthuizeen.

    Eh..

Adamek did it, Toney did it, Moore jumped straight to HW and Jones started from MW and jumped straight to HW at 175.,

Toney is a defensive freak with one of the best chins in history. Jones fought ruiz..... Imagine kovalev vs wilder or fury. Unfair to say the least. Jones wouldn't have fought the super heavyweights. Although kova could do alright at cruiserweight.

And they struggled while they're there. Jones left after 1 fight.

Moore was draining himself badly to make 175. He clearly didn't belong there and didn't stayed there for too long. He would have been perfect for today's cruiserweight division.

Adamek was also draining himself to make 175. He stopped at 190 before moving to Heavyweight, where he was never elite.

Toney just couldn't keep himself from the buffet line. He was probably on roids for a number of fights above 175 (He got caught against Ruiz).

It's just not that effective to gain 25 lbs for 1 division up. Maybe Kovalev could do well there, but his power won't have the same effect and he'll be giving up a weight and size advantage.

I think Mekhontsev is the real dark horse in the lhw division

Was a good medalist at the '12 Olympics, and looked like a real beast doing so. There are guys who are successful amateurs, but have a stricktly amateur fencing like style and you know it won't translate to the pros, but Egor always had a pro style, and looked like an absolute monster in the ammys

Only thing is that he's a little old, and is being moved along fairly slowly, but then again maybe he'll be a late bloomer and be one of those guys that fights into his late 30s early 40s

Have to see more of the Mekhmonster before I really rate him. But he sure looks promising.

Ward has been saying he's staying at 168 before Kovalev became relevant and before idiots like you heard about him.
