Froch says he'll retire if he loses to AA. Haye says he's retiring in 2 years (future of boxing). "The knockout artist" David Rodriguez says he wants a title shot within 2 years but says he'll retire in 3. Manny's gonna retire soon. Floyd - who really knows.

I mean, it seems like these guys aready to give it up in their prime. David Haye obviously has an issue with commitment, so I can see him hanging them up (especially if he loses to Klit). Manny's pride might keep him in the game if he is to lose to Floyd. I could see Floyd fighting for another 5 or 6 years, honestly. I just hate to hear all the retirement talk coming from so many of our stars. What gives?

    This isn't a new thing.
Boxers all plan to quit when they win the championship, get their first 1 million in the bank, etc etc etc.
It never works out, there's always one more big fight out there, until they get to one big fight too many and lose, so then its a battle mentally with them if they should carry on and regain their lost glory, or quit on a loss.

Its the problem with some fighters today, it doesn`t really seem like they have the same spirit and passion for the sport as fighters had in the old days

Haye is a good example! What the hell are his ambitions:huh

To make a lot of money from his production company, fight a few WBA retreads, and retire as a fighter who is only high-regarded in the UK. Sound about right?

Yes, i`m afraid so! But i just dont understand all his talk and **** about the Klitschkos, if money and a title is the only thing he wants.. He talked his way to fight them, but he could have got that crappy WBA belt with out getting the Klits involved! The fact is if Haye retires after fight a couple **** defences and not fight the Klits, all his talk is pointless and would only make him look like a coward and a fool

Fighters always say that. De La Hoya said for a long time that he'd be retired by 30. His last fight was at 35, and that was because he was shot. Tyson "retired" after the Spinks fight.
